24 years and left as a Commander

Engineering before joining Rajalakshmi

Engineering College. He served as

Dean (Mechanical Engineering) and

Mentor I Year at REC for 4 years before

taking over as Principal of RIT.

During his tenure in Indian Navy, he

was involved in developing Indigenous

Spares and Components for the Russian

ships. As a recognition of his excellent

professionalism he has been awarded

“Commendation Medal” from Flag

Officer Commanding –in-Chief, Eastern

Prof. P.S. Rajeswaran graduated in Mechanical Engineering in the year 1975 from the Madras University and completed postgraduate degree in Production Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy in the year 1977. He started his career in the same college as Associate Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Department.

To gain Industrial experience, he moved to the Machinery Division of M/s Southern Structurals Ltd. in the year 1978 and worked in the Industrial Engineering Department. He engaged himself in the Productivity Cell and improved the efficiency of the factory to newer heights.

From 1981 to 1988, he served in the English Electric Company of India Ltd. in Production and Control and Process Planning Departments. He was responsible for WIP Inventory Control and Supply Chain Management.

From 1989 to 1998, he worked with M/s. S & S Power Switch Gear Ltd., in the various capacities in the departments like Maintenance, Procurement, Design & Development and Marketing, As the

General Manager Profit Center, He designed and tested HV disconnectors in high power laboratories in Italy and Netherlands for world class standards. He has traveled widely in Europe and Middle East Countries for Product Development and Market Research. During his service at S&S Power Switch Gears he underwent two prestig ious management courses for Senior Managers at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad and Staff Training College at Hyderabad.

He worked as Senior General Manager in M/s P.S. Electricals Ltd. and M/s Saravana Global Energy Ltd, for 3 years and introduced newer technologies in production and testing. For two and a half years he worked as a consultant for value engineering and innovative practices for medium scale industries.

He has been in the teaching profession for the last 12 years in the ranks of Assistant Professor, Professor, HoD and Dean. During this period, he received AICTE grants for conducting seminars and MODROB schemes. He was also instrumental in establishing

TIFAC- CORE a Govt. of India project in Machine vision at REC.

He is a member in professional bodies of Institution of Engineers of India, Indian Institute of Welding, Institute the Establishing Production Engineers and ISTE. An active member in SAE, he served as Vice Chairman- Students wing recognized as the Champion by SAE for ASOP course.

Dr. P. K. NagarajanHODMechanical Engineering

Dr.P.K.Nagarajan is the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He completed Ph.D. in Heat Transfer from the prestigious National Institute of Technology,Trichy. He has 21 years of experience in Teaching & Research. He guided five research scholars for their Ph.D. in various research areas like Heat transfer enhancement using augmentation techniques, Bio diesel, Solar desalination and Nanofluids. He is also guiding four research scholars in the area of Energy and Nano technology under Anna University, Chennai.

He Visited University of Applied Science, Aachen, Solar Institute,

Julich Germany and Technical University Eindhoven, Netherlands Under European Union –Asia link program.

He executed DST funded project titled “Performance enhancement of micro finned heat exchanger using Nano fluids” under Young Scientist Scheme worth of 19.38 lakhs during 2013-16 and also conducted CSIR funded “National level workshop on Nanofluids Characterization and applications”

Dr.M.Geetha, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has obtained her under graduate degree B.E from Bharathidhasan University and M.E from Sathyabama University. She completed her Ph.D degree from Anna University in the area of Pervasive Computing. She has around 20 years of teaching experience in reputed Engineering colleges. Her main research interests are Automata theory and Cloud computing. Apart from these, her research interests also include Compiler Design, Information Retrieval and

Information Security. Her contributions have culminated in 27 publications which include 12 International journals and 15 International conferences. She has organized several faculty development programs, workshops, conferences and Hackathon in association with the leading IT companies and various institutions like IIT, Anna University etc.

Dr.M.Geetha, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, has obtained her under graduate degree B.E from Bharathidhasan University and M.E from Sathyabama University. Her main research interests are Automata theory and Cloud computing. Apart from these, her research interests also include Compiler Design, Information Retrieval and

Dr. C. Kamalakannan, Professor and Head of the Department, Electrical and Electronics

Engineering has obtained his degree from, The Institution of Engineers (India) in 2004

and Masters degree from Anna University during 2006. He received his Ph. D. from Anna

University in 2013 in the area of Special Electrical Machines.

He has more than 20 research publications in the national and International journals,

also, his research findings were presented in more than 15 international conferences. His

current areas of interest are Power Electronics and Drives, Renewable Energy, Electric

Vehicle Technology. He received four medals from The IE(India) for his design and research,

also received awards from The IET for his academic credibility. He has conducted two

International conferences, one National conference, seminars, workshops and FDPs

sponsored by Anna University.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the Industry, academic and Research. He is

supervising four research scholars at present and four has received their doctoral degree.

He is a member of The IET, and life member of The ISTE (India). He has been acting as

Prof. P.S. Rajeswaran graduated in Mechanical Engineering in the year 1975 from the Madras University and completed postgraduate degree in Production Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy in the year 1977. He started his career in the same college as Associate Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Department.

To gain Industrial experience, he moved to the Machinery Division of M/s Southern Structurals Ltd. in the year 1978 and worked in the Industrial Engineering Department. He engaged himself in the Productivity Cell and improved the efficiency of the factory to newer heights.

From 1981 to 1988, he served in the English Electric Company of India Ltd. in Production and Control and Process Planning Departments. He was responsible for WIP Inventory Control and Supply Chain Management.

From 1989 to 1998, he worked with M/s. S & S Power Switch Gear Ltd., in the various capacities in the departments like Maintenance, Procurement, Design & Development and Marketing, As the

General Manager Profit Center, He designed and tested HV disconnectors in high power laboratories in Italy and Netherlands for world class standards. He has traveled widely in Europe and Middle East Countries for Product Development and Market Research. During his service at S&S Power Switch Gears he underwent two prestig ious management courses for Senior Managers at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmadabad and Staff Training College at Hyderabad.

He worked as Senior General Manager in M/s P.S. Electricals Ltd. and M/s Saravana Global Energy Ltd, for 3 years and introduced newer technologies in production and testing. For two and a half years he worked as a consultant for value engineering and innovative practices for medium scale industries.

He has been in the teaching profession for the last 12 years in the ranks of Assistant Professor, Professor, HoD and Dean. During this period, he received AICTE grants for conducting seminars and MODROB schemes. He was also instrumental in establishing

TIFAC- CORE a Govt. of India project in Machine vision at REC.

He is a member in professional bodies of Institution of Engineers of India, Indian Institute of Welding, Institute the Establishing Production Engineers and ISTE. An active member in SAE, he served as Vice Chairman- Students wing recognized as the Champion by SAE for ASOP course.

COMPUTERSCIENCE AND ENGINEERINGThe Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 2008 with

an initial intake of 60 students and now has currently reached an intake of 180 students in

recent years. The department moves with the vision of empowering the students with high

challenges of modern computing industry and research for the positive contributions to the

members which includes 4 Professors, 6 Associate Professors & 15 Assistant Professors.

There are 7 research scholars currently pursuing their research activities in the various

universities. Faculty members of the department are the members of various professional

and technical bodies like IEEE, CSI and ISTE.

The department has been accredited by NBA. The department has fully equipped laboratory

facilities to carryout various real-time projects, research and consultancy projects. Our main

focus is on the academic excellence of our students for which our faculty members motivate

the students to participate in various technical activities. Our students are also encouraged

to participate in various industry/ministries sponsored contests like Smart India Hackathon,

India innovation challenge design contests and ARM Design challenges. Regular training

program are conducted to enhance the employability of our students. In addition to this,

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

was established during the inception of the institute in 2008. Drawing

upon RIT’s tradition of teaching excellence, the Department of ECE

with a team of eminent faculty members and students, work closely

together in an open, collegial atmosphere. This programme covers core

theory along with the latest developments related to the core areas of

Electronics and Communication Engineering such as VLSI Design, RF

and Microwave circuit design, Embedded Systems, Signal Image and

Speech processing, Computer networks, Wireless Communication.

In addition to the well-equipped curriculum related laboratories, the

department has established centre of excellence laboratories for

providing hands-on training on latest technologies (Artificial Intelligence,
