The International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) is dedicated to

boosting socio-economic development, enhancing human resources and promoting

economic relations in a range of developing partner countries. We also offer humanitarian

assistance and provide aid in the event of natural disasters or international refugee crises.

To carry out our mission, we offer a range of assistance that centers on four core

operations: lending and investment, technical cooperation,humanitarian assistance,and international education and training. Our Fund is used to make direct or indirect

investments and to finance lending operations. Revenues generated by the Fund are

used to support our bilateral or multilateral technical cooperation projects, humanitarian

assistance operations and education and training.

Every new project from the TaiwanICDF proceeds according to a rigorous project cycle

and is backed by mutual covenants signed in cooperation with relevant stakeholders. Our

projects are designed to address the strategic development goals of each of our partner

countries, pay due consideration to associated regional trends, and maximize results by

employing the right combination of capital and technical cooperation.

Ultimately, our work is tailor-made to the local needs of each partner country. Our

assistance covers a variety of contemporary development issues such as environmentalprotection, public health, agriculture, education and information and communications

technology.

We are also acting to improve human resources and build institutional capacity at the

TaiwanICDF itself. We believe that as a stronger, more professional organization, we

will be better placed to advise decision-making bodies within our government. Efforts

to improve our own organization will also help us to deepen the coverage of our projects

and transfer technological know-how on to our partners. We aspire to making the most

effective use of manpower and resources, and replicating and adapting successful

experiences from one partner country to another.

About the TaiwanICDF

International education and training from the TaiwanICDF shares Taiwans own

development experiences with developing partner countries around the world. Our

aim is to help these partner countries cultivate and nurture a talented pool of human

resources.

To achieve this objective, our International Education and Training Department

performs a range of interconnected operations. Our in-depth, professional workshops

are dedicated to contemporary trends in development, while our higher education

scholarship program draws on expertise at Taiwanese universities to strengthen

know-how in critical disciplines. We also cooperate with a number of international

organizations on training projects.

Our International Higher Education Scholarship Program was initiated in 1998 whenwe joined forces with a group of Taiwanese universities to offer scholarships for a

number of English-language courses, up to and including Ph.D. level.

The program enables talented young citizens to come to Taiwan to pursue their higher

education and follow course materials and learning objectives that are specifically

designed to address key development issues. The program provides full financial

support for tuition and living expenses, and having grown in scope over the years,

now covers 35 courses from 21 universities 12 bachelor's, 21 master's and two

Ph.D. programs. These courses focus on the development needs of our partner

countries by addressing issues such as tropical agriculture, aquatic sciences, business

administration, information technology, human resource development, medicine and

public health, or various fields of engineering. All of these disciplines are in highdemand in our developing partner countries. We aim to boost social development and

economic growth by generating a pool of quality human resources.

Each year we provide scholarships to around 195 new students.

3.1 Eligibility

Applicants applying for a TaiwanICDF scholarship must meet both the general eligibility

criteria (please refer to appendix 1) and be a national of a country on the List of Countries

Eligible for TaiwanICDF Scholarship (please refer to appendix 2). Applicants must also

meet the Regulations Governing Visiting, Resident, and Permanent Residency of Aliens

set by ROC(Taiwan) National Immigration Agency.***Note: All Undergraduate Programs only accept applications submitted by citizens of

allied countries of ROC(Taiwan).

3.2 Application Procedure

The 2016 TaiwanICDF Scholarship application period will run from January 1 to March

18 (Taiwan Time). For the 2016 TaiwanICDF International Higher Education Scholarship

Program, there are a total of 31 study programs available for scholarship application.

Applicants should: (1) complete the TaiwanICDF International Higher Education

Schlarship Program Online Application, and (2) submit the documents listed below to the

ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Ofce/ Taiwan Technical

Mission or project representative in their country. Applicants must ensure that they submitaccurate and complete documentation; failure to do so will result in the application not

being processed. Please also note: (1) Late submissions will not be accepted and/or

processed; (2) All Undergraduate Programs only accept applications submitted by citizens

of allied countries of ROC (Taiwan).

1. A photocopy of applicants passport or other document showing proof of nationality.

2. A photocopy of applicants highest-level diploma and academic transcripts.

3. A photocopy of applicants English prociency certicate.

Please note: This means a TOEFL test score or that of another recognized English

proficiency exam, or documents certifying that the applicant has graduated from

a program where all courses were taught in English. Applicants who are unable

to provide such proof of English proficiency due to special circumstances may be

assessed for English prociency by an ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/

Representative Office/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative via

interview or other forms of testing. Applicants whose official national language is

English are exempt from needing to supply these documents.

4. A TaiwanICDF Medical Report (including an HIV test) dated within the past three

In addition to the above documents requested as part of their scholarship application,applicants should also submit all documents required by the TaiwanICDF partner

university that they are applying to before the admissions deadline of that university.

For detailed information on such documents, please refer to Section 4: Study

Programs Available for TaiwanICDF Scholarship Application at Partner Universities

in 2016 in this brochure and the related websites of each study program for further

admission information.

The ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/ Representative Office/ Taiwan

Technical Mission or project representative will conduct a rst review of applicants

based on the eligibility requirements and selection criteria of the TaiwanICDF, and

then submit their list of recommended applicants to the TaiwanICDF no later than

March 31 each year.

A second review of the qualified applicants will be conducted by an academic

committee organized by the individual partner university in joint cooperation with

TaiwanICDF representatives. Such reviews will be based on each universitys

selection criteria, whilst also accounting for the eligibility requirements and selection

criteria of the TaiwanICDF.

After the second review has been conducted in cooperation with all partner

universities, the TaiwanICDF will announce its list of scholarship recipients,

in principle, no later than June 30 each year. Successful applicants will receive

an acceptance letter through the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate (General)/

Representative Ofce/ Taiwan Technical Mission or project representative to whom

they originally applied.

Please note: Gaining admission from the university does not necessarily mean that

the applicant has also been given a TaiwanICDF scholarship. Only the applicant who

receives the acceptance letter issued by the TaiwanICDF is the scholarship recipient.

SCOPE OF CURRICULUM

Courses in the elds of tropical agriculture, including Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant

Protection, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Aquaculture, Food Science, and

Agribusiness Management are offered in the curriculum.

In addition to required courses, students need to complete courses from above mentioned

elds as selective courses to acquire the bachelor degree in General Agriculture. If studentswant to have a major (currently only Plant Production and Animal Production are

offered) for the degree, more than 70% of the elective courses have to be in the category

of either Plant Production or Animal Production. In Plant Production, the courses

include but are not limited to: agronomic and horticultural crop production; plant protection;

and plant propagation. In Animal Production, the courses include but are not limited to:

anatomy and physiology of animals; utilization of animal products; animal and sh breeding;

and farm and pond management.

SCOPE OF CURRICULUM

The IUP in BA provides most courses in English which includes various professional coursesand focuses on relevant management courses.Students require to fulll 137 credits for graduation, which includes 66 credits for requirecourses,39-43 credits for elective courses, 28-32 credits for general courses, 4 PE and 2service learning courses.

After completing their studies, students will receive a Bachelor of Business AdministrationDegree from the Department of Business Administration at the College of Commerce.

SCOPE OF CURRICULUM

The IMBA program requires a minimum of 42 credits to graduate. Required courses

account for 29 credits, including Business Quantitative Methods, Financial Management,

International Business Management, Leaders Forum, Leadership and Team Building,

Managerial Accounting, Managerial Economics, Management Information Systems,

Marketing Management, Strategic Management, and Strategic Talent Management. Theelective courses fall under four areas of concentration namely, Entrepreneurship, Finance,

Management in Asia and Marketing. Students have the option of taking the required number

of courses to achieve a concentration or take courses across concentrations to graduate with a

General MBA.

The IMPIS program requires a minimum of 30 credits and a thesis to graduate.

SCOPE OF CURRICULUM

A minimum of 48 credits for courses plus 4 credits for master's thesis are required for

graduation from the IMBA program.

All IMBA students receive a fundamental training in the basic tools and concepts for

management in the rst year. A core curriculum provides the student with the background

Research carried out in IMPISA is divided into three major groups: (A) Data Science, (B)

Creative Multimedia, and (C) Human-centered Interaction and User Experience.

In Group A, we are looking for students from different domain knowledge, such as electrical

engineering, education, business management, humanities & social sciences, and medicine.

Under the cross-scope and multi-cultural environments plus the lectures and advising from

our professors who are specialized in data mining, machine learning, articial intelligence,

natural language, and big data analysis, IMPISA is a perfect place to train outstanding data

scientists.

Group B: IMPISA has lots of experiences in creative multimedia and have obtained some

distinguished and breakthroughs in recent years. In this group, we are focusing on combining

information system with other knowledges, such as Wireless Multimedia Networking

Technologies and Computer Vision for Visual Effects to name a few.

Group C: Human-centered interaction and user experience consist of topics related to

intelligent human computer interface, natural language, learning technology and information

media. Based on the four topics, we also extend our research to game programming, user

The PhD program aims to provide education and training for students to cultivate the

capacity to approach public health problems through careful analysis and well-planned

This program specializes in electric power engineering, including electric machine drives,

power systems and power electronics, networks and controls.

Academic Requirement: Students enrolled in this program are required to complete twenty-

four (24) units of academic courses having three (3) units each. Four (4) of these courses

shall be taken from the core courses specically designed for this program. Students needto seek the advice of his faculty adviser to help him design his academic loading. With the

This degree comprises a total of 36 credits, composed of 13 credits of required courses and

This degree comprises a total of 128 credits, composed of 99 credits of required courses and

29 credits of elective courses.

The curriculum for the program includes fundamental business courses (e.g., Accounting,

SCOPE OF CURRICULUM

This degree comprises a total of 128 credits. A total of 103 credits are from required courses

and 25 credits are from elective courses.

The curriculum is divided into four major professions: Journalism, Advertising and Public

Relations, Broadcasting and Television, and Communication Theory.

The program focuses not only on academic study but also practical knowledge. Students arerequired to complete at least 288 hours of internship domestically or overseas and complete a

Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) Bachelor Program in Medical Laboratory Science

and Biotechnology. This is a 4-year bachelor degree program integrates a complex level of

theoretical and technical instruction in laboratories of the eld as below:

At masters level, A minimum of 36 credits are required for a masters degree. 16 credits for

core courses, 6 credits for thesis courses, and 14 credits for elective courses .the program

offers interdisciplinary courses in English. Core courses focus primarily on health care
