About the District

Beaverton Rural Schools is located in the beautiful, central portion of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. The district encompasses 275 square miles and serves 1,323 students in three buildings located on an attractive, 53-acre campus in the City of Beaverton. District facilities are modern and well maintained and a source of pride for the school community.

The district is focused on student achievement and the delivery of quality academic and extracurricular programs to all students. The primary school (K-3), middle school (4-8) and high school (9-12) are all led by experienced instructional and administrative staffs. Students are able to take advantage of extended day/year programs, quality Career and Technical Education courses, middle college classes and dual enrollment courses. Beaverton Rural Schools is known for its caring staff, family atmosphere and strong community support.

Beaverton is located on M-18 in southern Gladwin County. The City of Beaverton is surrounded by picturesque farms, inland lakes and wooded areas. There are many opportunities for year-round recreational experiences, including golf, water sports, skiing, hiking, fishing and hunting. Central Michigan University and Saginaw Valley State University are an easy commute, as are quality hospitals and the cultural offerings of Midland and Mount Pleasant.

CandidateProfile

The Beaverton Rural Schools Board of Education and community would like their next school leader to possess the following qualities: • Successful experience in school administration;

superintendent or assistant superintendent a plus

• A consensus leader who is visible and accessible to staff and community

• Demonstrated success with the improvement of student achievement

• Consistently exhibits integrity and professional ethics

• Demonstrated experience in budget development and financial management

• Possess excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills

• Committed to organizational excellence and quality service

• Consistently follows and implements district policies and administrative guidelines

• Demonstrated ability to proficiently use technology and electronic communication

In addition, the Board has identified the following preferred qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in school

administration• Minimum of a Master’s Degree+15 credits in

Educational Leadership, Curriculum, Business or Administration

• Experience as a central office administrator

The district will offer a regionally competitive, multi-year contract. The total compensation package will be commensurate with the education and experience of the selected candidate.
