We have created a presentation in digital book form so you can follow

room by room our renditions of the apartment.

The 3d visuals which depict our interior design concepts are

followed by  actual  photos of the furniture and accessories

  with descriptions.

Please remember these are renditions taking into consideration

aesthetic as well as practical prerequisites.

Of course there are other options for all choices we have made

and we look forward to your comments so as to produce a perfect

tailor made solution for you.

Livingroom

The door from the bedroom to the living room has been closed leaving a large harmonious space .We have placed a wrap around sofa with a chaise so if you have guests they can sleep very comfortably.

A 5-piece light sculpture has been positioned between the balcony doors and has been repeated in single pieces on either side of the mirror .From the ceiling hangs a brass ringed chandelier which is mirrored by the ultramodern brass coffee table. On the back wall are a series of hanging soft leather stitched wall elements which serve as storage and the shelving in between becomes a library.

The mirror is handmade out of brass with a mercury glass finish.

There are two bars with doors , internal lighting and a natural silk wall covering reflecting again the aquas which are found in the curtains.

We foresee the floors in a wood finish. There is a very large choice of beautiful and innovative finishes. On the rendition we have just used normal wood planks.

The fabric for the curtains is Venetian and the strong aqua/gold colors give a Mediterranean atmosphere. The walls are an ochre Venetian stucco finish.

Hand tarnished mercury glass mirror with a gesso and burnished bole frame and therefore unique.

Gesso and bole is the base usually prepared for water gilding; the technique is centuries old • six to eight layers of gesso,

and then three to four layers of bole (which is a mixture of natural earth pigments and gelatin glue) are applied whilst warm • each layer

of the gesso, and each layer of the bole is finely sanded, and then the last layer of bole is burnished.

CORDERIE is produced from an actual plaiting of ribbons, almost knots. At the design and production stages for this article a pattern of ribbons, plaited together, was made by hand and later reproduced by

applying the jacquard technique. An interesting development which draws attention to an unusual step in the creative process.

Master bedroom

By closing the door from the living room to the master bedroom it allows a king size bed to be placed on this wall.

To conserve space the door from the bedroom to the en-suite bathroom is changed to a sliding pocket door ( the height of the bathroom ceiling).

On the opposite wall from the bed a wall to wall closet can be built with an inserted chest of drawers and a mirrored back wall. This can have a ‘mirror’ television inserted so when the TV is off it reads as a simple mirror.

This option gives ample space for a proper wardrobe and a large bed.

Hanging from the ceiling is a silk lamp which gives a warm and intimate feeling to the bedroom.

Master bathroomSince the original master bathroom was quite small and we have managed to arrange a suitable wardrobe space in the bedroom we can take out the whole area of the built in closet which is opposite the present bathroom. We believe it is possible to put the same height ceiling (270cm) throughout this space (present bathroom, hall and newly incorporated closet area) creating one large room by gaining another 3m (an increase of 70% in space).

In this area one can have a marble or stone counter with two sinks. The whole length (170cm) can have hanging storage or shelving units underneath. This allows you to store all your bathroom items as well as your towels, accessories etc.The back wall of this area can be mirror with soft framed lighting. The height of the ceiling allows hanging lights for chic décor.

The current bathroom wall can be taken out and then redivided into two sections, one will be fixed which gives privacy to the toilet/bidet area and the other half will be a frosted glass door (ceiling height) which when slid open unites the sink area with the shower area and makes it one room. The bathroom can be done with marble or with mosaics .

Where the bathtub is presently, a space of 165cm in length, a large rain chromotherapy shower can be installed. There is ample space to have a bench in the shower. Alternatively there is enough room in the new bathroom design for a jacuzzi if it is preferred to a walk-in shower. Either option will fit.

This then becomes a true master bathroom. The main entrance for the master bedroom will be from the hall. Therefore when you enter the master bedroom from the hall you will pass a lovely recessed area on the left with the double sinks and on the right you will have a non transparent glass wall (sliding door closed). The whole area will read as one volume and space.Since the flooring needs to be replaced it can be a thought to put floor heating in the bathroom, there is also a space for a heated radiator towel rack.

KitchenThe kitchen is quite long (7.5m) with a few structural irregularities jutting out from the wall along the way. We will step back three meters from the window leaving a space for a round 120 cm table and five chairs with beautiful lighting over the table. The ceiling is high in this area and with soft sheer linen curtains it could look like a room within a room.

There are several possibilities to developing the functional part of the kitchen. If we use 2.5 meters on both sides of the kitchen, one side with counters for stove and sink/dishwasher area and cabinets above for dishes/glasses etc..The other side can be tall units with built in appliances – regular fridge, wine fridge, microwave/oven, espresso machine, etc.and storage space. This gives a total of 5 linear meters of built in kitchen all the way to the ceiling. Depending on the facilities which have to be integrated it will be a complete high tech modern kitchen with everything you will need.

One of the design concepts is to take the archway (there is already an archway existing) and extend it making a slightly lowered curved ceiling throughout the practical part of the kitchen as can be seen on the rendition. The kitchen will be made-to-measure utilizing all available space in collaboration with a professional kitchen company.

If possible it would be optimal to build a wall to wall closet to the left as you enter the kitchen. This can serve as a closet for coats, jackets, shoe racks, built in safe and other storage.

This still leaves an adequate entrance space from the hall to the kitchen. Perhaps a smoked mirrored wall directly in front when you enter will reflect the hallway and give a more spacious feeling.

The radiator is currently on one of the structural elements which jut out and it would be optimal if it could be replaced with a flat modern radiator panel under the window. Of course the electrics need to be checked as well as heating elements throughout the apartment. One could consider floor heating in the kitchen also if replacing the floors.

Main hallAs you enter the apartment we would like to recall the grandeur of the building. Therefore, we suggest a beautiful hand-made French tile with an inset pattern or mosaic for both the hall & the kitchen. Using the same flooring one creates the feeling of a more spacious entrance.

Lighting in the hallway still has to be studied and could be as simple as a row of modern spots on the ceiling which extend all the way to the kitchen creating a feeling of a longer passageway.

Again floor heating is indicated.

The second bedroom seems on closer study to have some lost space which could be recuperated. It is entered through a comparatively long hall and if we move the entrance door towards the hallway and open up the walls it may be possible to get a much larger space, at least about 30%. There is some structure which needs to be respected but in any case there is quite a bit of space to be gained.

If left as is, then the bed needs to go against the small wall on the bathroom side and a large closet can be made from the present small storage room which is there. If the room is opened up and the door opens close to the hallway then the bathroom can be repositioned further towards the entrance hall leaving more space again in the bedroom.

This room needs to be looked at more closely onsite to verify some structural elements to be able to properly redesign it. The idea is to gain the space to accommodate another person if there are visitors, family or (even a friend of your son’s).
