Integration Support for WMS warehouse:Extending better Manufacturing management capabilities to WMS

Extending logistic support for Beas Customer especially who require serialization

For customers who combine Beas Manufacturing and WMS, we have worked on the communication between them to support production stock transactions even when they are required in a WMS warehouse.

In this version the users can make productions goods issues and goods receipt directly to a WMS warehouse taking advantage of all the features offered by WMS and avoiding having to transfer to a SAP warehouse.

Note: Pick to Production will be available from versions: Beas Manufacturing 9.3 PL 03 HF 01 and WMS 19.3

Integration Support for WMS warehouse:WMS warehouse and their bin locations are displayed and supported in Beas screen.Work Order Material issues:

Time receipt: Automatic pre-assign process accepts WMS warehouses for Issue and also for receipts. For automatic receipts during time receipt, the system reads bin assignment also from WMS definition:

Integration Support for WMS warehouse:Production Goods Receipt:WMS warehouse are supported in Productions stock transactions . When an produced item is receipt , it is also created the WMS additional information as the SSCC number.Additional Information:The Inventory history and the batch tracing screen show information of all types of warehouse supported by Beas (Normal SAP warehouses, SAP Bin locations, Beas warehouses and WMS warehouses).

Reservation / Allocation: It is possible to reserve or allocate considering a WMS warehouse structure:

Integration Support for WMS warehouse:Quality Control Transfer:Users can generate all documents from this screen for WMS warehouses (Transfer, issue, goods receipt PO and issue + receipt)“From warehouse” and “To warehouse” fields can be all types or Beas supported warehouse (SAP, Beas bin locations, SAP bin warehouses and now WMS warehouses)

Attention: Transferring from a WMS warehouse to a WMS warehouse, or between two bin locations of the same WMS warehouse, is NOT possible. For this type of transfer, use WMS features.Webapps 2.1:Beas supports WMS warehouse in Production goods issues and Goods receipt from the Webapps 2.1

Webapps 2.1 TerminalBackflushing app

This app allows reporting material issue for a work order positionIf the parameters “Post finished items when” Or material booking “Automatic Material posting” are set to be reported as “Work order backflushing”, Users can use this app to identify the workorder position (barcode field) and specify the total quantity to be reported. After inputting the number of units, the corresponding quantity of materials is issued and the finished good entered.

The material is issued from the inventory location stored in the BOM and the primary item inventory, respectively. Depend on the parameter selected If this position has to be also close user should select confirm completion

Webapps 2.1 TerminalInterruptions AppsFor Interruption management, we provide 2 apps; start or stop a resource or tools interruption

▪ The Start interruption allows to start the clock from all resources or a tool.▪ The Stop interruption for any started interruption.

Rules of the desktop terminal also are applied for webapps, The user can start or stop according to the resources allow in the personnel master data / FDC setings

Webapps 2.1 TerminalPicking list apps:For a Picking process, Beas allows to work in 2 ways: Picking from a SAP Picking document or Picking directly from a Sales Order. (decide which of them is for the customer process)Note: For this feature, the reservation system has to be activated.

The apps available for support this process (Pick → Deliver)Picking list: We select a SAP picking list, and for each picked item, we create a reservation on Beas.

Pick and pack SO: Instead use the picking list from SAP, we use as reference the Sales order and quantity are reserved on Beas.

Webapps 2.1 TerminalPicking list apps:Delivery: For picked items, this app allows select from Picking list or Sales order to create a delivery note. This app creates a delivery document with the quantities previously picked (Reserved) A parameter is available in the “App Setup” to select if Customer works from SAP Picking or Sales Order.

Webapps 2.1 TerminalStock Transfer Request:With this WebApp you can create a stock transfer request in SAP from a specific warehouseIn the "Header" you can select the source warehouse, provide the delivery date and add your remarks to the requested transaction.Note: Bin Location fields are not required for this app and are not available in the screen

After entering the mandatory information in the "Header" tab, the "Line" tab becomes editable. Here you can provide Item-specific information. Upon selection, the exact "Item name" and "Target Warehouse“, the currently available number of the item in its unit of is also indicated .

Once you have saved the document, the SAP transfer request is created.

New FeatureItem Version Stock information:New additional TAB in Item master data to provide stock information for Item version items.See the several version available for an item, batches related to this version and current inventory also the bin-location information when applied.Additionally, We included yellow arrows to add in this TAB or Bin location TAB link to information with the additional master data:

New FeatureWork List:Many customers uses the terminal pool list to have an overview of all pending operations in all resources, when is view by user and theirsspecific resources. With Beas 9.3 PL 3 a new own report called "Work list" is available.

The new work list, can be used for:- View of all open routing positions and parallel resources- Link (yellow arrow) to all documents and data (Item master data,

work order, routing and so on)- Use as Pool list inside SAP (part of basic license)- Manage many entries.- Administration of open work order positions- Check situation- Define Pool

- Lock/Unlock Routing position for Time receipt- View existing Time receipt- Create different statistics- Define the operator employee- Check material situation

New FeatureQC Transfer – Target Quantity:In Quality control transfer screen we extend the feature to allow define a quantity for the target item in its Unit of measure. In this way when the user select change current Item by another one the system display A Target Quantity based on the Units of measure of the to Item

Beas now allows to set different quantities in the "Issue+Receipt" options. When the user selects this option, now the system is able to select different quantities

New FeatureBeas Service Layer (BSL):Introducing the Beas Service Layer (BSL), a new is a new generation of extension APIto provide communication to Beas business object allowing users read data or update information by REST serviceThe Beas service layer is a middle layer between the application and the database.

With the BSL you can create WEB Applications and Services without develop a Backend. The BSL is working in same way as SAP Service LayerIt is possible to use BSL via Common Service and via HTTP

All components inside the Beas core:- OData Server- WEB Server- HTTP Server

The way to communicate with the BSL are:BSL use ODATA. Data via JSON ODATA 2, ODATA 3 and ODATA 4 supported(not 100%)Additional functions supported, which not ODATA conformThe complete interface is optimized for the requirements in BEAS/SAP world

New FeatureBeas Service Layer and Common Services:With the common service▪ The WEB-Server service sends all Crystal Report ▪ Users can create SAP transactions, via which this asynchronous can

be worked off. ▪ And External services and third programs can be linked here e.g. to

execute transactions

In this version: We extended the Beas common service to use the BSL. You could also execute your owns script interacting with the Beas Service Layer with a Jason command before it was only possible to write Beas Script.

Feature ImprovementMRP performance:Special for large volume of data to be possible processing the MRP, we improve Beas 9.3 PL 3 to get a better performance up to 3 time faster in MRP.

The MRP took a lot of time to calculate if there were many open production orders.The complete calculation process in this area was revised.

In the following example a database with 46 000 open work order positions and 192 000 open Bill of Material positions.

Feature ImprovementWork order Structure view performance:Now we expand a maximum of 200 position in the work order structure, to allow to load the screen faster

Note for customers with more than 200 position should open the work order details:The system expands max. 200 Assemblies per structure level and displays a warning message.

Do not make sense to see all positions in the structure view, because the user may lose the overview inside the structure view.If the user needs a complete list, he can open the work order - Tab "Position"

Feature ImprovementBetter performance in Reservation list If you have many Bill of Material positions, it took long time to open the Reservation list, Issue or Allocation window

The reason for this was the Item History function, which Beas executes for every material position. In the past it was possible to disable this function in the Configuration wizard.If disabled, the system didn't execute the slow item history function.

But now the Reservation / Issue window are gradually faster if you also activate item history function.

Feature ImprovementAPS Material check for external operationsNot reserved stock on external warehouses is supported if the material is linked to an external routing position.Example:Work order with Material "RM", 3 PcsStock: 2 on external warehouse1 on internal warehouse

Result:Stock = 3, but with external warehouseBut the Bill of material position can only take 1 pcs from internal warehouse, Not Available: 2

When Material position is linked to an external operation. Now The system considers external warehouse for material linked to external operation.Stock is enough and you can't see the BoM Entry in the Shortage Report for this work order position

System ImprovementMemory Usage optimization specially in MRP, APS and work order creation

Past:If Beas calculated MRP, APS or other complex calculations, the used memory increased.One of the problem was memory leaks related to visual objects. These are areas which the system didn't delete after using.New:The problem with visual objects is solved. In combination with other changes we can reduce the needed memoryTogether with better Memory Handling this allows for calculating mass data.

Beas script function "wobooked"This function is used from many placesExample: Structure view, time receipt, closed work order and many more

Past: This function was slow; to check Booked quantity, the system read always the information from Table IGE1/IGNIf you have a big database, this process can take long.Now:In Beas a field is existing for Work order position and Bill of materials in which this information is saved. This column is always actual and the database test checks if the correct information really is inside or not. We don't need to check the big tables IGE1/IGN1In certain areas the program will be significantly faster, if you are working with a large database or many records in this table.With the following new beasscript function it is possible to check the changed function.This returns current booked quantity for work order positions and work order Bill of materialsobject=ue_fert_tools=wobooked=<belnr_id>=<belpos_id>=<pos_id>messagebox=<value>
