Class Pet: Bearded Dragon Preferred Environment: The Bearded Dragon’s favorite environment is in the desert. He digs and hides under the ground to protect himself. The animal is a cold blooded reptile. The Bearded Dragon eats insects. The Bearded Dragon gets eaten by large goannas (lizards), dingoes, and birds of prey. Cacti give him oxygen. The Bearded Dragon drinks 24 water drops twice a day in 10-15 minutes a day, 2-4 days. The right temperature for a Bearded Dragon is 18 celsius or less. Preferred Classroom Environment: The bearded dragon lives in a reptile cage, 40 gallon terrarium or larger, with light and water,and food,and calcium sand. The Bearded Dragon lives in a reptile cage with light, water, food, and calcium sand. Care Information: The lizards diet is insects, vegetables, non-citrus fruits. Water and food bowls should be cleaned daily. You can also mist your Bearded Dragon with warm water everyday and it will lick moisture from its skin. A high healing bulb needs to be in the middle of the reptile cage to create a basking spot. The Bearded Dragon is most active during the day. During the most active period of the day, the daytime, use an ultraviolet fluorescent bulb for 12 hours a day. The Bearded Dragon needs to maintain night time temperature.
