Alive Hospice Grief Support Group Begins January 16 Alive Hospice will be hosting an 8-week Grief Support group at BUMC on Thurs-

day evenings from 5:30-7:00 pm, January 16 - March 6. This group will be profes-sionally facilitated and is appropriate for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. BUMC’s 15th Mission Trip to Mexico is January 4-12, 2014BUMC and Belmont UMC are sending a joint team to serve in South Central Mexico with Give Ye Them to Eat (GYTTE) (www.gytte.org). GYTTE was founded in 1977 as a social outreach project of the Methodist Church of Mexico to combat hunger and poverty in the rural sector. The purpose of the GYTTE program is to strengthen the capabilities of marginalized people and communities to meet their basic needs, and to determine and sustain a just and integrated development process. Participatory methods and development tools are used to create conditions in which change can take place from within the communities. GYTTE uses people-centered approaches to development focusing, among others: on community development, agricul-tural development, a Community and Family Health Program - “More Than A Bandage”, and church and faith development. Join the Mission and Outreach Department and Missions Leadership Team as we celebrate these volunteers and their commitment to service.
