This year’s theme dares us to find our inner strength and meet each day and its obstacles with brave hearts. Whether the challenges we face are enormous or minor we need to be strong in faith. We should learn to accept our imperfections and vulnerabilities. Don’t let life pass you by while you wait for the right opportunities. Move forward fearlessly, embrace your strengths, and raise spirited, tough, fabulous children. Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Meet Our Mentors Sara Combs

So much can be said about our marvelous mentor mom, Sara Combs, but the first word that comes to mind is selfless. As she puts it, “Life is crazy!” That is because Sara is devoted to so many different causes. She is a busy mom and wife, she volunteers at LBC, and she fosters women who are in need. She began the foster process by working with the prison ministry. She housed a woman newly released from prison. Since then she has helped so many different women including her nieces who came to live with her when the family had issues. Currently she is helping a mother and daughter who became homeless. Sara grew up in Hartwell, Georgia, the same town as Pastor Grant, but Hampton has been home for the past eight years. She has two adult sons and two adult stepsons and has been married to her husband Jeff for almost 19 years. Her advice to moms would be to always put God first, your spouse second, and children and family next. She believes that is God’s plan. She also urges us to always be willing to forgive. Great advice from an unbelievable mom.
