Pyrite, the one with same crystal structure as diamond can be highlighted. ‘Fool’s Gold’ with its
outer features, I say, it ‘Fool’s Diamond’ with its inner structures.
Memories Recall • 2011Sterling Sliver, Colored Papers

When I was younger, I have made my own jewelry with materials that were available for me,
colored papers. Bringing back the collectable childhood memoires and transforming it into an
actual piece of jewelry; beauty of one’s old memories, memories recall.
Silver plates are folded into the shape of a ring just like I used to do with the colored papers.

Stonewall • 2012Sterling Sliver, Sulhwasuk (Korean Natural Stone)

Stonewall which is known as a masonry construction that has been made for thousands of years indicates
the ‘strong protection’ of what is behind the wall. During 19th centuries in South Korea, stonewall was mainly
used for their constructions. Sulhwasuk (Korean Natural Stone) was used to emphasize Korea’s traditions.

Memory functions to guide present behavior and to predict future outcomes.
The one functioned to guide the work. ‘Mental time travel’ of a childhood memory, Bubbles.

a piece of jewelry emphasizing its details,
such as a revolving cylinder which is the main part of producing sounds.

Moments of H2O (water) when gravity is effected. Jewelry shaped into a movement of H2O (water), one who
wears it can be the gravity and the effect of its movement. Becoming part of the moments of nature.

Applying crystallography to the metal; facets. Facets are cut into the metal to improve its appearance by allow-
ing different angles of light reflection on the faceted surfaces.

Binyeo, a Korean traditional ornamental hairpin was used to
indicate females’ political hierarchy back in 19th centuries. Taegeuk,
a symbol that refers to the ultimate reality from which all things
and values originate is used as main part of pieces. Each Binyeo is
designed to differentiate different levels of classes.

Creation of a skeleton into a piece of jewelry and letting it be the part of look of precious. Process of
showing how a ring is built; outer piece builds up according to the shape of an inner piece.

An idea of a bridge that connects two different places. It remembers the place where I was born,
the United States, while manufacturing collections in South Korea during year of 2012.
Placing a bridge in-between those two places completes my designs. Two cultures. Two lifestyles.
