Bayonne University referenceAll university files and dossiers are stored centrally in the heart of the city of Bayonne, on the site of a former army base. Extensive redevelopment culminated in a state-of-the-art 1,500 m2 library. The library is organised into separate zones, including an information zone and reading areas, where users can access CD-ROMS, the internet and newspapers. There are also study areas, where visitors can find specific information about Basque literature, economy, management and law. The Sysco® library racks in the reading room are custom-built and feature an integrated lighting system. The building also has separate work areas. This is where the offices and book restoration department are housed, and where the University archives are stored in mobile Compactus® systems.

Reference National Library This National Library houses the literary and musical treasures from countless museums. Bringing these collections together required close consultation. Requirements and wishes were translated into a tailored solution. The library’s storage capacity has been increased by 25%, and the indoor climate is adjusted at night to allow adequate ventilation. Proper ventilation is one of the main requirements for the long-term preservation of valuable documents. The Library’s total storage capacity comprises 115 kilometres of books, boxes, drawers and various collection items such as printing machines. A further 25 km is devoted to the storage of CDs, Cassettes and vinyl records.
