Be A Pokémon!

Racial Pokémon are unique characters. Although they come in all shapes and sizes Racial Pokémon focus on learning the same way humans do, developing talents in human fields or fighting styles, some even becoming Pokémon trainers themselves! That's not to say they don't have access to the talents of their own species. Racial Pokémon can take racial features and edges that reflect their base species, and if that is not enough they have class-based opportunities to pursue their heritage.

Making a Pokémon Character!Racial Pokémon are created exactly like human characters, with some exceptions: - The character uses the Base Pokémon’s Size and Weight class. - The character has the Pokémon’s egg groups. - The character has the Pokémon’s body shape.

Unlike most races, Racial Pokémon has limited access to the three following classes: Genetic, Hybrid and Splice. Racial Pokémon follow all prerequisites of the class, plus these additional Limitations:Genetic: A Racial Pokémon may only take the Genetic class for their base species. Hybrid: A Racial Pokémon may only take the Hybrid class for Pokémon in the same egg group as their base species.Splice: A Racial Pokémon may only take the Splice class once.

Features:Pokémon TypePrerequisite: Pokémon RaceStaticGain the Type(s) of your Base Species.

owned by them, as long as the tutored trait doesn't conflict with Trainer character rules (Like Guidance).

Pokémon AbilitiesPrerequisite: Pokémon RaceStaticSelect a Basic Ability of your Case Species. You gain that Ability.

Edges:Pokémon MovePrerequisite: Pokémon RaceStaticSelect a Move on your Base Species' level up list Level X or lower, where X is your Character Level times two. You gain that Move. You can take this edge up to two times, each time selecting a different Move.

PokéCapablePrerequisite: Pokémon RaceStaticSelect a non-movement Capability (Threaded, Firestarter, etc.) that your Base Species has. You gain that Capability.

PokéMovementPrerequisite: Pokémon RaceStaticSelect a rare Movement Capability your Base Species has (Sky, Levitate, Teleporter, Burrow). Gain that Movement Capability equal to the Base Pokémon’s, to a maximum of 6.

Note to Players: Despite size and body shape correlating with power and movement capabilities in many cases, these factors are calculated like ordinary characters. It is the player's responsibility to select non-racial edges and raise relevant skills in order to get these capabilities where the player wants them.

Likewise it is player responsibility to keep in mind what Pokémon are and are not appropriate for certain games. Aquatic Pokémon with limited land movement or massive Pokémon who will have to wait outside while the rest of the party heads indoors are going to be taxing for everyone involved. Use common sense and communicate with your fellow players.

Keep in mind that some of these elements can be changed. Size is not always consistent when it comes to Pokémon! Being one size larger or smaller than normal can make a big difference for some Pokémon trying to fit in to a medium world, no pun intended.
