PLACEMENT TEST for the LIFEPAC CURRICULUM

Bible 200-800

Instructions

This test is designed to aid the teacher or parent in proper placement of the student into theLIFEPAC curriculum. It has two sections: the Student Test and the Answer Key. The Answer Keyfollows the Student Test.

This is not a timed test and the student should be given an opportunity to answer each questionadequately. If the student becomes bogged down and the test seems too difficult, skip to the nextsection. If the test is still too difficult, this child’s academic skill level has been reached and testingmay stop. Each test level should take no longer than one hour.

Testing should begin approximately two grade levels below the student’s current or just complet-ed grade level. For example, a student entering fifth grade [500] should begin testing at the thirdgrade [300] level. (See Below.) Of course, a second or third grader could not test below the sec-ond grade level. This allows for proper grade level placement as well as identification of any learn-ing gaps that the student may have.

Once the test has been administered, it is ready to be scored. The teacher or parent does all of thescoring. Each section has 10 numbered questions. Each numbered question equals one point.Use the Answer Key to mark all incorrect answers on the Student Test. Next record the total num-ber of correct answers in the box beneath the LIFEPAC number in the right hand column. Whenall tests have been graded, transfer the number correct by LIFEPAC to the Student PlacementWorksheet on the back of the answer keys. Then add the total number of points per grade level.

If desired, these LIFEPACs may be ordered and completed before thestudent begins his assigned grade level curriculum.

Learning gap LIFEPACs for this student are ________ ________ ________ ________________ ________ ________ ________

Note: It is not unusual for a student to place at more than one level in various subjects whenbeginning the LIFEPAC curriculum. For example, a student may be placed at 5th level in Bible, mathematics, science and history & geography but 4th level in language arts. The majority ofschool time should be concentrated on the areas of lower achievement with the ultimate goal ofequal skill mastery in all subjects at the same grade level.
