Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, established in 2007 is a research-led university in the vibrant city of

Gandhinagar with a campus extending over 100 acres in the Educational Zone. PDPU corridor was established by an Act of Gujarat State Legislature. The University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and its flagship programmes are approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education).

Today, PDPU is widely recognized as a centre for excellence in education in the domains of engineering, management, humanities, solar and nuclear energy and lays more focus on quality research across all the programmes. The Liberal Studies programme is an innovative undergraduate Degree course of

B.B.A./B.A.(Hons.), B.Com. (Hons.) and B.Sc. (Hons.) with a Concurrent PDPU Diploma in Liberal Arts. The duration of this course is four years.

The School gives full exposure to students by offering a wide range of inter-disciplinary subjects such as Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts, History, Economics, Political Science, Management, Accountancy and Commerce.

Research ProjectsStudents take a research project worth six credits in the third and fourth year of the course. It involves selection of a topic that is inter-disciplinary in nature, but is connected in some way to the students’ major or minor field of study.

Rural InternshipsIn a developing nation like India, with a unique urban- rural social demography, it becomes imperative to appreciate rural india and participate in its development.

Indian and World CulturesSecond semester students are initiated and encouraged to learn about the heritage and culture of India as well as Global Cultures.

Corporate InternshipsCorporate Internships encourage students to go beyond the classroom and get a feel of the corporate world. They can perceive their theoretical knowledge at work and as practiced in this ecosystem.
