The Neil Robertson StretcherNeil Robertson’s Naval service started in 1899 taking him across the world fromthe Outer Hebrides to Africa, and during World War 1 he was serving on HMSBlake. John Neil Robertson died at the age of 41 on 22 December 1914 and wasburied, with full Naval honours, in Plymouth, England.

The first Neil Robertson stretcher was made at some point between 1906 and1912. However, it is not known to what extent he contributed to it’s design. It isalmost certain that he was part of a long list of contributors including CaptainFitzherbert, Captain C.A.W. Hamilton and Fleet Surgeon I.M. McElwee.

Manufactured from high quality duck canvas and ramin slats, the Neil Robertsonstretcher has been widely used for 100 years.

Shark RepellentBCB shark repellent contains a chemical and a thick black dye that repels anddisorientates sharks. When tested by the US Navy in 1967 BCB’s shark repellent was theonly product out of 24 to achieve any success in repelling sharks. Since then BCB’s sharkrepellent has been used by Navies worldwide as their approved shark repellent.

When this foil packed sachet is squeezed in water, the crystalline acetate produces adense black cloud. The inner bag has an attachment cord so it can be kept close to yourbody. This NATO approved product is used in life rafts and for airborne survival packs.

Rescue CradleThe Fibrelight Cradle is a new and versatileman overboard recovery system designedprimarily for use by small rescue craft,rigid inflatables and ships' lifeboats.Manufactured from PU coated polyesterwebbing and reinforced with carbon fibrerods, the Fibrelight Cradle is tough,durable, lightweight and easy to handle; itis 1.3m wide by 3m long and weighsapproximately 5kg.The Fibrelight Cradle has many differentapplications however its primary functionis that of a system to recover casualtiesfrom the water in the medically preferredhorizontal position. To rescue a casualty inthis way the cradle is secured at theinboard end and the outboard end is heldoutwards by hand, boat hook or bridledepending on the size of the craft. Thecasualty is then guided on to the cradleand the outboard end is hauled up,bringing them safely on board. Threats ofterrorism, criminal acts and piracy are impacting uponmarine business to a greater extent than ever before.Recognising that the world military naval forces cannotbe everywhere at once BCB International has developeda non lethal counter measure to acts of piracy.

The Buccaneer has been designed as a light weight airpressurized launcher to deter and defeat small fast seacraft at long range.

Capable of reaching ranges of up to 850 meters theBuccaneer’s specialised projectiles layer entanglingnetted lines across the surface of the water disablingoutboard engines as they wrap around the prop.

The Buccaneer can be used from shore locations such asharbour installations, on offshore Platforms or from onboard ships.

The Buccaneer is extremely flexible;

Mounted on a slew ring it can be manually directed toface any area of threat through 360 degrees.

Alternatively it can be locked in place and operatedremotely from up to 300 meters away – for examplefrom the bridge or other safe area.

Alternative projectiles such as high visibility smoke andsplash projectiles can be used for maximum deterrence.

Recovery lines, individual lifeboats, lifejackets andbuoyancy aids can also be launched from the Buccaneer.
