The Neil Robertson StretcherNeil Robertson’s Naval service started in 1899 taking him across the world fromthe Outer Hebrides to Africa, and during World War 1 he was serving on HMSBlake. John Neil Robertson died at the age of 41 on 22 December 1914 and wasburied, with full Naval honours, in Plymouth, England.

The first Neil Robertson stretcher was made at some point between 1906 and1912. However, it is not known to what extent he contributed to it’s design. Manufactured from high quality duck canvas and ramin slats, the Neil Robertsonstretcher has been widely used for 100 years.
