Enclosed you will find our full color brochure featuring our large array of the finest quality handcrafted tools. Brushes by Karen has been servicing the beauty industry since 1988. We pride ourselves on great service and quality products, and are always striving for even better ways in which to serve your every cosmetic need. Pages 2 through 13 of our colored brochure will showcase our beautiful USA made brushes. These are hand-made and hand-woven, using the finest materials, by skilled artisans. Our hairs are carefully selected and processed. Animals are not destroyed for the purpose of making a brush. Handles are made with a smooth hardwood and lacquered and do not come from rain forests or any country that uses endangered species of plants or wood. Nickel ferrules are crimped to the handles for a secure finished look. Each brush is individually pouched for protection and retail appeal. Pages 14 through 17 include a variety of select tools that are made from across the globe, offering variety, quality, performance & affordability. Our extensive line of cosmetic accessories continues on pages 18 through 27. Amongst these pages you will find a large array of professional tools for the makeup artist and esthetician, as well as many retail items for your clientele. Our sister companies, ColorStrokes Makeup and ColorStrokes Mineral Makeup are also private label. Makeup orders can be combined with your cosmetic brush orders for one stop shopping.

NEW ITEMS NEWS! 100 % Synthetic Brushes! A brand new processing procedure, has allowed us to improve on the synthetic’s performance ability. With this advance in technology, synthetic hair is now available in various versions – that are ideal for use with all powders and an excellent alternative to natural hair brushes, if desired. Made using polyester filaments of different thickness, synthetic hair now offers almost all properties of natural hair including color retention, spring-back, strength and fine tips. We are pleased to introduce our two new lines of Synthetic brushes for use with all types of makeup: Black Faux Brushes & Brown Faux Brushes. These collections are:

(Shown on a separate insert) Our Synthetic Brushes (Taklon & Nylon hairs – shown on pages 5 & 10) are ideal for use with creams and liquids, as well as fine lining. These brushes are also 100% synthetic.

HANDLE SIZING & PRINTING INFORMATION STANDARD EYE BRUSHES Most of our standard, short length eye brushes have a handle size that is approx. 3" exposed in length. Longer handles (approx. 6" exposed) are marked with a * if available in standard stock. STANDARD FACE BRUSHES Our standard short size is called a tip handle and are approx. 2" – 2 ¼” exposed. Our longer (approx 3” handles) are marked with a + if available in standard stock. Please add .35¢ each for longer handles. MILLENNIUM & BLACK FAUX BRUSHES - Long, thick dowel shaped handles BROWN FAUX – Short, thick handles with black ferrules SPECIATLY BRUSHES - Select Brushes, Canadian Squirrel & Two Tone Synthetic Brushes - The stencil handles vary in size and are considered mid length. They will glide makeup on for a soft, smooth (almost airbrushed) finish, with very little effort. Due to the delicate hair of squirrel brushes, it is important to use an extremely light touch to avoid breakage of this fine hair. Pad Printing on Brushes & Accessories Most products can be professionally printed with your mark or logo. This will give you the look you want and will add value to the retail price. A few extra pennies spent at startup will bring you back dollars each and every time you sell a product. Pad printing is ink that is laid down on the product. It can be scratched off if effort is used, however, with normal wear and tear the printing should remain in tact. It will scratch off easier on metal, yet will last longer on wood and plastic.

Pad Printing on Custom Made Brushes Minimums start at - 72 PCs. per style brush. Brush Pad Print Plate - One time fee $100.00 - $125.00 per plate A Plate is needed to etch your logo for the printing procedure.This is a one-time charge. Depending on how many different handle sizes you will be printing will determine how many plates are needed. Set Up Fee - no charge Stamp Charge – no charge

Pad Printing Stock Items Minimums - 72 PCs. per style of any product with a printable surface. Thin Steel Cliché’ Plate $180.00 for one image size. An additional size, duplicate logo can be put on the same plate (if done at the same time) for an additional $90.00 A Plate is needed to etch your logo for the printing procedure. This is a one-time charge. Depending on how many different items you will be printing will determine how many plates are needed. Our stock pad printing does allow plates to be shared with many different items (as long as the image size is made to fit). Shipping is made with UPS (we do not ship through US Postal Service). * OUT OF STOCK ITEMS Although we try to keep a large inventory of each item in stock, occasionally out of stock situations occur due to our vast product line. We will do our best to inform you of “out of stock” goods that are known to us at time of order placing, so that you may elect to order an alternate item. If an item becomes out of stock when your order hits the shipping department – we will take this item off of your invoice and ship only the “in house goods”. The out of stock items will be written on your invoice for your reference. We have kept our minimum orders low through out the years and ask that you please re-order any out of stock items on a new, minimum met order. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis. We want to be able to handle your order as efficiently as possible.

* PAYMENT Orders are shipped C.O.D. or you can pay on Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Resale # must be given or order may be subject to sales tax. FIRST TIME ORDERS AND SUBSEQUENT ORDERS OVER $500.00 MUST BE GUARANTEED ON A CREDIT CARD OR PRE-PAID WITH CERTIFIED CHECK OR MONEY ORDER. WE DO NOT ACCEPT POST DATED CHECKS. Orders over $5,000 must be paid via wire transfer. Please note that we charge a $20.00 wire fee to your invoice. OUR CREDIT CARD AUTHORIZATION FORM MUST BE FILLED OUT TO OUR SATISFACTION AND RETURNED TO US PRIOR TO SHIPPING. ALL CUSTOM ORDERED AND IMPRINTED MERCHANDISE REQUIRE A HALF DEPOSIT AT TIME OF ORDER. * ERRORS OR PROBLEMS Please report any errors within 5 working days of receipt of your order. If you received an item sent in error (on our part), we will issue a call tag to pick up the merchandise. The correct merchandise will be sent out to you immediately. All sales are subject to Brushes by Karen’s Policies, Terms and Conditions. Placement of your order with Brushes by Karen indicates that you have read & accept without exclusion all of our policies terms and conditions.

* DAMAGED ITEMS Please call us immediately! We will contact your local U.P.S. office for a damage inspection. BE SURE TO LEAVE THE DAMAGED GOODS IN THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING CARTON. We cannot replace a damaged shipment if a claim has not been properly placed with UPS or carrier of record. *RETURNS Please Order Carefully. We Cannot Accept Returns. DO NOT SEND MERCHANDISE BACK WITHOUT CALLING FOR AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. ALL RETURNS MUST BE GIVEN AN AUTHORIZATION NUMBER. ALL RETURNS WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION WILL BE REFUSED! Any returns that are given authorization must be in their original and re-sellable condition. Deposits and payments taken against imprinted or custom-made orders are not refundable. * RETURNED CHECKS & FEES There is a $20.00 fee on any returned check. This fee is in addition to the original check amount. Future orders are held until the check and fee are paid in full. Returns and Cancellations are subject to a 15% restocking charge. (Unless the error was ours). Refunds to credit cards (due to customer error, changes or cancellation) are subject to a 4% processing charge deducted. * DEPOSITS / LATE FEES / ETC. Deposits and payments taken against imprinted or custom-made orders are not refundable. Clients are responsible for accepting completed custom orders within 30 days of notice of completion.

* SHIPMENT REFUSALS Once you have placed an order, you are responsible for accepting delivery. If an order is returned due to it being refused or if no one is there to accept it or pay the C.O.D. amount, you will be responsible for the shipping charges and 15% restocking fee. If re-shipped, both freight charges will be imposed. No further orders will be shipped until your account is clear. Please make arrangements to accept your shipments. There is a 2% finance charge, per month on all orders past 45 days. If it ever becomes necessary to use the services of a collection agency, the client will be responsible for agency fees, in addition to the amount due Brushes by Karen. Future orders are held until payments and any fees are paid in full.
