• Baychester Ave identified as a Priority Corridor for the Bronx with 7.9 Pedestrian Killed or Severely Injured (KSI) per mile

• Baychester Ave & E 233rd St identified as a Priority Intersection for the Bronx with 4 Pedestrian KSI

• 2012 safety project installed neckdown on E 233rd St & Grenada Pl; traffic calming on E 233rd St

• Long distances for pedestrians to cross, difficult to cross in one signal

• Skewed intersection with five approaches

• 18 possible vehicle movements
