There will be a County Council meeting June 10th at the County Extension Office.

District O’Rama Update

It’s time for O’Rama! District 4-H O’Rama's are open to both junior and senior 4-H members that place first in county O’Rama and provide an opportunity for these

4-H members to exhibit the skills, which they have

developed through their project work in a variety of competitive activities. During each O’Rama, Beginner and Intermediate Record Book winners, Ross Foundation Pho-tography, Poster Art Contest and Beekeeping Essay Con-test winners are also recognized. Officer elections are also held in each region. Junior and senior first-place winners are awarded first-place trophies for their

accomplishments.

Will be held on June 21—23 at Camp Galilee. The camp is open to all Junior (9-13) 4-H’ers. Senior 4-H’ers serve as counselors, teaching workshops and leading activities (Senior mem-bers will go on the afternoon of Monday, June 20th). Cost of camp is $30 that is due when you sign up, along with your t-shirt size. The fee includes lodging, meals, all activities and your t-shirt. Sign up by June 15th, we need time to order t-shirts and purchase food sup-plies. Only Senior 4-H members that have filled out Leadership Applications and been approved will be counselors, please contact the County Extension Office at 425-2335. Theme this year “Robotics”!

County Council and Food Booth Planning Meeting —August 9th

There will be a County Council and Food Booth meeting August 9th at the County Extension Office.

We will be discussing the upcoming Fair and setting the clubs work schedule.

2016 Baxter County Dairy Foods Contest Winners!

Main Dish:

Party Dish:

1st Place—Paige Street, 2nd Place—Caitlyn King, 3rd Place—Joseph May

Caitlyn King will represent Baxter County Farm Bureau and Baxter County 4-H in Little Rock on June 1st with her main dish category, Catie’s Cheesy Chicken and Ham Pasta.

Roberta Golmon, the Baxter County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee Chairwoman, as well as her parents will accompany her to the state contest. All the contestants and family will attend lunch afterwards at the Little Rock club.

Looking for a Club Community Service Project? Let the Senior members help you out.

- Pop-A-Top – Please bring aluminum pull tabs in plastic bags to be weighed per county. Funds raised are

to help 4-H’ers needing assistance that are undergoing treatment at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

- Fun Toys & Children’s items – assemble care kits for children in hospitals, shelters, and other difficult

situations

- Other previous state service projects – If your county has collected items, please bring them with you

OR you can donate to a location in your own community and turn in the totals.

- Eyeglass Collection—In just about any home, one can find a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being

used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person's life. Please bring your gently used eye-

glasses to the 4-H office.

If your club would like to participate, your donations will be delivered when Senior

members go to State O’Rama or the National Assoc. County Agricultural Agents conference in July.

Calling all Cloverbuds ages 5 – 8! This day is just for you!

Come enjoy the outdoors for a science filled morning of activates.

*Location: Cooper Park small pavilion

*Bring a Sack lunch and a parent to sign release form.

*Pre-registration by July 13
