BAWA Fees and Rates (2014) The Bambui Water Authority (BAWA) charges users a connection fee to be able to access water and an annual maintenance levy to help cover the costs of BAWA’s operations and maintenance of the water supply network in Bambui. S/N SERVICE(S) COST all costs given in Central African Francs (CFA) NEW CONNECTIONS FEE 1 Private Connections: Applicants who have fulfilled all the requirements (contribute to the construction phase of the project in addition to other BACUDA development projects) 50,000 CFA Applicants who never contributed in the construction phase but can show proof of contributing yearly to BACUDA 75,000 CFA 2 Indigenes and other applicants including missionary organisations who did neither of the above 150,000 CFA 3 The Bambui Fon’s palace, third class chiefs and primary schools (Government & mission) Free connections and water 4 Applicants wishing to carry out connections for commercial purposes (hostels, hotels etc.) 300,000 CFA 5 Administrative charges Connection fee of 50,000 to 150,000 frs 11,500 CFA Connection fee over 150,000 up to 300,000 frs 16,500 CFA MAINTENANCE LEVY RATES 1 Individual private connections, family homes 7,500 CFA /year 2 Families collecting from stand pipes 1,000 CFA /year 3 Hostel rooms, with water closets 3,000 CFA /year 4 Hostel rooms without water closets 1,500 CFA /year 5 Residential arrears with water meters 150 CFA /m 3 6 Hotels with conference halls, 10 rooms and above 50,000 CFA /year 7 Motels, snack bars with 5 rooms and above 30,000 CFA /year
