Apprenticeships are only for young people at “entry level”

Apprenticeships have changed significantly since Government reforms camein to effect in 2017. Apprenticeship Standards very definitely can be used toupskill existing employees. In simple terms, it’s a case of making sure thateach individual is matched to the right Apprenticeship Standard, in order todevelop their skills and knowledge – meaning your people are betterequipped to do their jobs and they receive exceptional developmentopportunities – win win!

At the Bauer Academy, we’re running Apprenticeship Standard programmesthat are transforming learning and development for existing employeesacross a variety of business sectors.

Apprenticeships Standards are fixed and can’t be changed

Whilst all of our Apprenticeship Standard programmes will meet andexceed the requirements of the Standard and the corresponding end pointassessment, we ensure that they are tailor made to meet the requirementsof each client’s people, business and culture. That way, it’s simply moreeffective for learners and employers.

The 20% off the job requirement is impossible to meet

We disagree! With buy-in and support from a business and its leaders, guidance from our Academy tutors and coaches, and of course, dedication from the Apprentice, the 20% will be achieved using anappropriate variety of learning methods. These include face to faceworkshops, online learning, written assignments and even job swapsand mentoring. We describe this as Dedicated Development Time.
