Bringing together the educational vision of the UNLV International Gaming Institute and Clark County School District’s Career & Technical Education, Battle Born Heroes Innovate (BBHI) introduces underrepresented middle and high school students to Nevada’s science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) careers, demystifies success in these fields, and provides an outlet for them to engage with STEAM role models, mentors, and leaders from the community.

Underrepresented youth participate in interactive online sessions and hands-on activities led by UNLV faculty and Nevada-based STEAM organizations. Learning focuses on topics like: game design and development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and STEAM.

We hope BBHI will give young people from historicallyunderrepresented communities the confidence to pursue careers in STEAM fields and provide them with a support network of industry mentors and ambitious, like-minded peers to help them succeed throughout their education and beyond.
