Engela wrote: The show is "A Perfect Day"This premiere production captures the beautiful, funny, heartwarming moments in at the park on aSunday at the beginning of 20th century. It was atime when cars shared the roads with horses, andflying was still new. As photography becamemore available, artist left documenting all thegritty details of life to the photographers while thepainters tried to communicate more the pleasingcolors and emotions of life. They found beauty asI do in the simple things: babies, children, firstlove, young couples, courting, weddings, families, romance, a baseball game, a church, a dance, boating, seniors, a county fair, a flower seller, astoryteller, a drive, a stroll in the park, a dance inthe dark.

I used these impressionist painters as myinspiration. For my paint box, I used popularsongs mostly written from 1900 to 1921.

The same way the impressionists painterscaptured a moment in time with light and color, Iwanted to capture the feelings of a communitywith sound and movement. The actors moveacross the stage like brushstrokes on a canvas, playing out the moments of their lives. Populatingthe park are all levels of society from the socialiteto shop girl, from the working-class cop to theflirting dandy, from the current trendsettersjoyously rushing the next new invention, to thetown elders relishing and sharing their memories.'I think the characters, their stories, and theirrelationships are timeless.

The show is a product of many thousandsof hours of effort. We hope that all who see thissweet and charming story will take with them amemory "painted this perfect day with colors thatnever fade," as song writer Carrie Jacob-Bondwould say.
