COMPETITION ON THE CONTINENT

Real Game Recognise Game

• BNL is a vehicle into Africa.

• Angola, Nigeria, Tunisia, Kenya, Zambia,

Mozambique, DRC, Senegal, Ghana,

Cameroon, Egypt, are fanatical in their

support of basketball.

• BNL will have three foreign players per

team, with at least one being from the rest

Africa. Other African countries will follow the

league in order to see their National heroes

participating in the BNL.

• BNL clubs will represent South Africa in

the “African Club Championships” and the

“African Cup Championships”.

• BSA / BNL will host annual international

events, involving at least 2 other African

countries.

• A strong league has proved throughout the

world to be the key vehicle to a competitive

National Team (Africa, World Champs,

Olympics)

Real Game Recognise Game

• Basketball identified and recognised as a

“mass participation” sport by all macro structures.

• Creation of employment opportunities for primary

stakeholders (administrators, coaches, managers,

players, referees, etc) and secondary stakeholders

(medical, security, entertainment, etc).

• BNL players / heroes will be involved in health and

wellness campaigns for PBL and its partners,

plus each club to launch a coaching campaign

(minimum of 3 schools / clubs in every province)

• BNL will promote (inter alia):

• Stay in school campaign.

• Safe sex.

• Sport as a responsible health vehicle.

• BNL to host regular clinics and development functions.

• BNL players / heroes to be fully utilised in media visible

campaign to promote all of the above, to the benefit of

BNL and its partners.

• BNL to serve as a feeder to a strong and competitive

National team, which will serve to unite the nation in

international competitions (Olympics, World Cup, Africa

Championships, etc).
