Characters:

Michael Rogers - a 12 yrs. Old 6 th grader that loves to playbasketball and had dream of playing in Brooklyn High School.

Danny Rogers Michaels father who works as a mail messenger.Encourage Michael to play ball.

Laila Rogers Michaels Mother who works as a receptionist on ahotel near the city.

John Stone the basketball partner, friend of Michael that inspireshim to be competitive.

Coach Patrick Sanders the person who developed Michael to aMVP caliber type of a player in High School.

INTRODUCTION:

BASKETBALL BUDDIES

Michael Rogers is a High school basketball star from Brooklyn New

York. He has been recognized as super sub in grade school. Because of

his ability to put points fresh from bench whenever it is needed. He was

also known for his sweet looking jump shots. At first Rogers didn't

thought he will become a superstar in high school. But still he also

dreamed of being the ace player someday. That has come to reality

when he plays for Brooklyn High School in New York.

He has a best friend named John Stone, who also his basketball buddy.

They are best friends since grade school. Michael and John always get

into trouble while playing with other ballers on street. Their closeness

undergoes on a test, this happened when they both try out for the high

school basketball team in Brooklyn. They are both good players but

only Michael Rogers make it to the basketball team. As result John

became mad to Michael and it tested their friendship. These two

basketball buddy has some argument to who's a better basketball

player. They will become rivals on the high school hard court. Although

things came like this Michael and john overcome the disaster to theirrelationship. They are now best friends again, even though they play

for different teams.

CHAPTER 1

Meet and Greet

Michael started loving the game of basketball since the age of 4. Because of his

father also playing basketball and always watch NBA. Mr. Danny Rogers motivate

his son Michael to play ball back then when he can still play on the street.

Michael's family lives in a small town near Brooklyn, New York. Their life wassimple his father works as a mail messenger while his mother works as

receptionist on a hotel there near the city. Michael Rogers is known for his very

charming face when he is playing he won't talk he just play his best and when the

game is over he doesn't care if he lose. As long as he knew that he gave his all.

Once a week he always plans to play ball with his friends at the street of New York

near their town. While playing there he will meet John Stone a 6th grader who

plays like a pro. John had totally different personality to Michael. Hi is a trash

talker and he always emphasize that he is better than any other baller on thestreet of New York. Michael friends fight with the ballers of the street, they do all

they can do but they did not even win once. Although they lose the game there

still good thing that happen they became friends with street ballers of New York

City.

After that incident they always go back there and play. It develops their basketball

skills and begins to be more agile players. That also started Michael and John

closeness and it develop more and more every time they play with each other.

CHAPTER 2

Dreaming Together

Playing basketball makes Michael happy and contented. He is a 6th graderfrom Brooklyn and has play in different leagues. Michael plays for his schoolnear the city of Brooklyn. He is not a typical player. He can play differentpositions that range from shooting guard to power forward.

Michael has the height but absolutely he should gain more weight. He stands6'3 at his young age of 12 so his size plays a big role on his performance.

He gets more attention whenever he plays on the street. Because he is just abench player in their basketball team on his school. Michael is so much goodwhen he plays of the bench and he's used to it. But now he is dreaming ofbeing in the starting five. He does extra practice every day. Practice hisshooting, inside game, passing, and prepare his body for a more physical gamewhen he stepped onto High School Hard court. Both John and Michael plans to

try out to the Brooklyn High School basketball team. They play together,practice together, and dream together. Michael and John loves playing witheach other. They do not want to play against to. They are very close, actuallyJohn always go to Michael's house to play video games with him and to tatsethe lasagna of Michelle Rogers, Michael's mother. John really loves to eatlasagna, according to him Auntie Michelle's version is the best. SometimesMichael also went to John's house. He met the mother of John Mrs. Laila Stonewhen he visited his friend back in summer. John's father died when he is just 7

years old. Now he still remembers his dad from being a jolly person. Hedecides to play basketball to honor his dad his first coach in basketball.

CHAPTER 3Moment of triump h and disaster

They do lots of preparation for the upcoming tryout. John focused on hisinside game cause his more of a low post threat. While Michael practice hisshooting from the perimeter and more on his three point shots. They are bothbusy preparing their selves to high school basketball tryouts.

Still they have time to make some relaxation during weekends. Just tocontinue building their friendship they hang out with their friends. When theday of the tryout comes both of them are really excited to see the fruits oftheir hard work last summer. They are really prepared for this day.

Coach Patrick Sanders handles all the things in the tryout for the basketballteam of Brooklyn. He is the one in charge of choosing who among the playerswill be in for his team. At the first couple of drills he notice immediately whoare those players that will perfectly fit on the team. Coach Patrick has 6 oldplayers on his team. Approximately there s only 9 players that he need to

choose. So it is difficult for him to manage the tryout. But he is obligue tochoose only the best 9 players from them. He has prepare drills that will makethe tryout hard and tough for the players. After the tryouts Michaelimmediately chosen by coach Patrick for the shooting guard position. Whilethe other Eight players is make it to the team. They are from different schools.Suddenly Michael Roger's best friend did not make it. John Stone is sofrustrated after that day he even get mad to Michael. It is probably because hemake it while john did not. It will cause into an argument between them. Itwill put their friendship to test.
