Then Jesus straightened up and said to
her, "Woman, where are they? Has no
one condemned you?" She replied, "No
one, sir." Then Jesus said, "Neither do I
condemn you. Go, and from now on do
not sin any more." - Jn 8:10-11
The Basilica of St. Louis, King—proudly known as the Old Cathe-dral—is a St. Louis treasure. From its humble beginnings as a log building in 1770 to the now famil-iar 1834 limestone structure on the Arch grounds, it remains a center for spiritual nourishment, learning, civic life and celebra-tion. You don’t have to be Catholic to appreciate the Old Cathedral’s historical significance. As the old-est building in continuous use in the City of St. Louis, it is the latest remnant of the original water-front of Lewis and Clark days. It is one of the most popular churches in the country for weddings—more than 15,000 couples have been married there, and more than 18,500 baptisms have been performed at the Old Cathedral including Sacagawea’s son and William Clark’s five children.
