WAREHOUSE ALLOCATION

EFFECTIVE ADPThe NJDA offers USDA commodities to eligible recipient agencies (RAs) on a monthly basis from our two state contracted warehouses: Port Newark and Safeway. The amount offered is based on the RAs average daily participation (ADP). If the ADP is 50 or greater, the RA will receive a monthly allocation. If the ADP is 20-49, (SC2) the RA will receive a monthly allocation in September and March. If the ADP is 1-19, (SC1) the RA will receive a September allocation. This set-up has been in place for many years and will continue this upcoming year as well.

EFFECTIVE ADPThe effective ADP is based on your selection from the Commodity Selection Worksheet (CSW). In the box (Warehouse Allocations Planned Assist Level) of that sheet, it shows the calculated percentage that you selected for the upcoming school year. This percentage will be then be converted to an effective ADP percentage based on the period of July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013. This takes place in July and your ADP is then adjusted. The adjusted ADP along with percentage selected will create an effective ADP that will be shown on your monthly allocation notice on SNEARS.

EFFECTIVE ADPExample 1School A has an adjusted ADP of 3500. School A selected 25% for processing and 75% for warehouse. School A will have an effective ADP of 2625 and this number will be what the system will recognize on the monthly allocation offering. Example 2School B has an adjusted ADP of 100. School B selected 75% for processing and 25% for warehouse. School B will have an effective ADP of 25 and this number will be what the system will recognize on the monthly allocation offering. Since School B is now (SC2) it will only receive a monthly allocation in September and March.

EFFECTIVE ADPExample 3School C has an adjusted ADP of 30 (SC2). School C selected 50% for processing and 50% for warehouse. School C will have an effective ADP of 15 and this number will be what the system will recognize on the monthly allocation offering. Since School C is now (SC1) it will only receive a monthly allocation in September. Example 4School D has an adjusted ADP of 1500. School D selected 100% for processing. School D will have an effective ADP of 0 and this number will be what the system will recognize on the monthly allocation offering. School D will not receive any monthly allocation, which includes no extra commodity offerings or Department of Defense (DOD) fresh fruits and vegetables.

EFFECTIVE ADPExample 5School E has an ADP of 500. School E selected 100% for warehouse. School E will have an effective ADP of the same number 500 and this number will be what the system will recognize on the monthly allocation offering. School E will not receive any processed commodities or be able to select extra offerings of processed commodities from the state account.
