It is always important that remember when you are going to do some changes you must do a backup (CV).

First of all you need to know what are the RBS conditions. Trying to connect to the DUL using:

1. Element Manager

2. Terminal Interface (Putty, WinFiol, HyperTerminal)

3. CO support

Once you already checked was the main problem you need to do a backup (CV) before you make any change

on hardware.

If the problem is with the software, you have to work with the CO together.

You need to confirm with them that the problem is not on the HW.

If the Field Tec can not do a backup, the responsible of this have to be the CO.

YOU MUST DO A BACKUP

Page 16: Basic Guide for LTE

Using Element ManagerClick on “Create CV” and then click “Put to FTP Server” make sure to put the IP Address from you Lap

If you already have the CV y your PC you can click on “Reload with This CV” to recover the eNodeB

The CVs are in the /d unit so to get them, the path is:

$ cd /d/configuration/cv

When you change between directories you can use the next command:

$ cd /c or /d and then list what are inside of the directory with

$ ls you can list the files in the directory.

You are going to find the last created CV with the extension

lastcreatedcv.prt into the configuration folder

If you need the other CVs you can find them into the cv folder

When do I have to do a scratch?

When the DUL came without any software or the software are not the same or even older than R19AK.

If the DUL has the software loaded from the factory you do not have to do a scratch.

Before doing a scratch must do a backup, see slide 15

We are going to separate the eNodeB commissioning in twostages:

 Site Engineers (Field Operation)

• Install DUL Board.

• Upload the 3 Integration Scripts in DUL Board

• If the DUL needs a scratch, see slide 20.

 Integrations Engineers (CO Support)

• Download upgrade software package.

• Download and restore the last CV version.

• Install the licenses package.

HOW TO COMMISSIONING AN ENODEB

Page 33: Basic Guide for LTE

First of all, we must have the 3 “Integrations Scripts”:

– Site Basic

– Site Installation

– Site Equipment

These scripts have a principal parameters of eNodeBconfiguration, such as:

– IP Addresses of OSS interface.

– VLAN ID

– Site ID

– Basic RF parameters, etc.

The first step, is to be connected to eNodeB with Element Manager, and

follow this steps:

Start / All Programs / EM Application / RBS Configuration Tools / Integrated RBS

HOW TO COMMISSIONING AN ENODEB

Page 35: Basic Guide for LTE

“Manually” is the way that we are going to eNodeB commissioning, the

procedure is upload the 3 scripts, in this sequence:1. Site Installation File

2. Site Basic File

3. Site Equipment File

Therefore, we have to click in “Advance” option.

Page 36: Basic Guide for LTE

Click in “Browse” and search the “Site Install File”

 User Name: rbs

 Password: rbs

RBS Logical Name: Site ID (LMCAG0072)

VLAN ID: VLAN that eNodeB belongs.

 Checkmark the last two options:

 Do no use Security Activation.

Do not use IP Security Activation.

 Finally, click in “Start Integration”.

HOW TO COMMISSIONING AN ENODEB

Page 40: Basic Guide for LTE

Just wait 5 – 10 minutes, and check the level progress of RBS integration.

When the progress information level is “Notification of OSS” and the message

“Informing OSS that the RBS is up and running”; in this moment, the CO Support

Team have management of the eNodeB in OSS, so, they will be finishing the

commissioning and integrate to LTE Network.
