    What is a computer?

    A dictionary might say computers are electronic things for storing andprocessing data. There are many kinds: mainframes, desktops, laptops,etc. so let's talk about Personal Computers - PCs for short.

    What does a common PC have?

    Most home or office computers will have a CPU (the Central

    Processing Unit), a keyboard that you type on, a mouse that you use tocontrol the cursor on your screen, and a monitor that you read. ManyPCs now have speakers for sound and printers.

    network is a group of computers linked together so they can share data.The Internet is the linking of the thousands of computer networks

    around the world. It started in the 1970s in the US as a militaryprogram. Today, more than 120 countries and 60 million people use theInternet.

    THE PRESENT PROGRESSIVE TENSE:

    The present progressiv e tensetakes the form be + V ing.

    The form ofbeis determined by the subject of the sentence.

    He is singing.

    She is listening.

    They are sleeping.

    I am going home.

    In English, the present prog ressiveis used to indicate actionshappening at the time of speaking, or right now.

    Jake is speaking to his mother right now.

    Please keep quiet. The baby is sleeping.

    The present prog ressivecan also be used to indicate actionsoccurring over a period of time which includes the present.

    I'm taking five classes at the university.

    The present prog ressiveis sometimes used to indicate ongoing,developing, imminent or future actions.

    Forming the simple past tense in Irregular verbs

    The inrregular verbs, as they are called, do not follow any rule or principle and it is

    necesary to learn their forms in past tense and in participle, because their form in

    past tense is totally different than the form in the present, example:

    As you can see, in the chart there is an only conjugation for all the tenses. The

    interrogative and negative forms need the auxiliary did (past tense of the verb do).

    To use it, the main verb takes the infinitive form.

    The negative and the interrogative form of the irregular verbs is done in the same
