The drill chuck holds thedrilling tools such as a drillbit, which is tool used tocreate cylindrical holes.

The chuck is raised andlowered using the hand lever.

Chucks come in differentsizes which depend on thediameter of the largest drillbits that can be used.

The spindle holds the drillchuck, which holds thecutting tools such as drill bits.

    1) Switch on the insulator

    2) Release the emergency stop button

    3) Set the suitable speed base on the material.4) Clamp the workpiece and adjust to the drill bit

    2) OTHER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Do not support the workplaces by hand. Use a holdingdevice to prevent the work piece from being slip fromthe operators hand.

Never make any adjustments while the machine is

operating.Never clean away chips with your hand. Use a brush.

Keep all loose clothing away from turning tools.

Make sure that the cutting tools are running straight

before starting the operation.Never place tools or equipment on the drilling tables.

Always wear eye protection while operating anydrilling machines.

To start a twist drill into the workpiece, the point of the drill must bealigned with the center-punched mark on the workpiece. Some drillingoperations may not require a precise alignment of the drill to the work, soalignment can be done by lining up the drill by hand and eye alone. If agreater precision in centering alignment is required, than morepreparation is needed before starting to drill.

For drilling, the spindle should rotate at a set speed that is selected forthe material being drilled. Correct speeds are essential for satisfactorydrilling.

Operators must know how to set up the work, set speed and feed, andprovide for coolant to get an acceptable finished product.

Speed can also be set depend on the diameter of hole that we want tomake.

    Smaller diameter, higher the speed.

Larger the diameter, lower the speed.
