Battery Charger
Bring the charger to school every day in your booksack. NEVER put the charger in the sleeve with the computer.
AudioThere is only ONE audio jack
on the RIGHT SIDE which works for both audio input and output.
If you have the headphones with
a mic and two plugs, you will want to get one
of these.
You can also use bluetooth earbuds.
Fan
On the Fujitsu T935, The FAN is on the BOTTOM case. Be extra careful not to
block it for long periods of time or the computer will
overheat.
(No snuggling with it in the goose down blanket overnight.)
StylusProper DOCKING is important.
Improper docking will damage stylus and it will no longer fit in garage.

Avoid using fingernails to switch on and off; for hard shut down hold for 5 sec.

Password Policy
● Make the password easy for you to remember, but impossible for others to figure out.
● The password should be a minimum of 8 characters.
● You may NOT use your name in the password.
● You must use both capital and lowercase letters.
● You must use at least one numeral and/or symbol.
● Change up your password every 6-8 weeks.
Change Password
CTRL+ALT+Delete provides key functions.
Select CHANGE A PASSWORD.

Windows Button
Windows icon on the keyboard allows you to toggle between the START menu and the DESKTOP.
Windows 8.1 Views
Desktop view is similar to
the one found in Windows 7.
Start menu displays
programs as “live tiles”.
Signing Out
Click on your PROFILE in the top right corner of the Windows 8.1 START screen to SIGN OUT or LOCK your computer.
Shutting Down & RestartingPOWER BUTTON is located to the right of your profile on the Windows 8.1 start screen.
Always RESTART properly--only hard shut down if all else fails.
Why Restart?
It is important to restart ON
CAMPUS every day.
Oftentimes, image changes and updates are PUSHED to your computer when you restart.
You may see the STM CREST show up when Desktop Authority runs.
Many MINOR ISSUES will
correct themselves.
Always restart BEFORE going to help desk.
Windows Updates
Windows releases updates on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. It is vital that you stay up-to-date with Windows updates.

To view internet access, go to the bottom right-hand corner of the taskbar. Choose the Wifi connection icon.
When on campus, students MUST ALWAYS be connected to the STM-
STUDENT NETWORK.

is BALANCED.
If you are not satisfied
with the results, you

Battery Care & Conservation
● Fully charge your tablet every night & bring charger to school every day.
● Dim screen.● Shutdown computer when not in use.● Keep unused programs closed.● Restart computer every morning in
homeroom because it closes background programs.
● Avoid programs that hog battery (iTunes, games, Skype, etc.)
Click on BATTERY from right side of taskbar. Select MORE POWER
OPTIONS.

Some students like to password protecttheir computers on wakeup.

Activating the Input Panel
Touch keyboard is an icon on the taskbar.
This icon give you more keyboard options.
Transporting the Tablet
Always transport the tablet in the assigned sleeve (even if you put it in your booksack).
Do not walk around with the tablet in laptop mode (even if going to the help desk).
Never put papers, books or charger in sleeve with tablet.
NEVER hold / carry the tablet by the screen.
NEVER put the tablet in the sleeve in tablet mode.
ID vs. Cellphone
Don’t put your school ID in your pocket near your cellphone. It can demagnetize the ID which is needed for printing and entering school.
