Liquid polymers are more expensive on an active basis and operational cost for dewatering.

Lower cost per kg of active and reduced operational cost

Liquid Polymers have up to 50% mineral oil content with a distinct oily smell like diesel

Powder polymers have less to no odour

Liquid flocculants have a shorter shelf life of 6 – 12 months due to separation of the oil phase

Less oil in sludge using powder means sludge may be suitable for more applications when disposed
