Provide administrative leadership for a graduate enterprise that includes more than 80

graduate degree and certificate programs, including 4 doctoral programs.

Academic Master Planning Leadership Team

New graduate enrollment increased 10.2% from FY13 and another 9.5% in FY14.

From FY13 to FY14, there was a 46% increase in international graduate student

applications. During the same period, there was a 20% increase in international student

admits.

Facilitated campus and HLC review and approval process for the Doctor of Nursing

Practice Program.

In collaboration with CSET and SBS Deans facilitated the development of five

Professional Science Masters (PSM) Programs including start up funding of $242,000

from One-time funding (MSU, M) and $60,000 (MnSCU).

Three PSM programs have been submitted to HLC for approval with an anticipated

launch date of Fall 2015.

In collaboration with the Business Dean and faculty facilitated the creation of a Masters

of Accounting program.

With College Deans and Graduate Coordinators, lead strategic planning efforts to grow

and improve graduate programs.

Developed and implemented strategies for acquiring new financial resources to support

the Honors Program and Undergraduate Research Center.

Develop and refine policies affecting all areas of graduate education.

Worked within the shared governance structure to implement new graduate policies, a

significant modification to the Graduate Faculty Status process, and began exploring

ways to compensate graduate faculty for research. Currently developing a process to

comply with HLC’s Determining Qualified Faculty Guidelines release in May 2014.

Provided support and oversight for Research and Sponsored Programs. In FY12 $5.3

million awarded with $25 million active grants and contracts. In FY13, $5.9 million was

awarded with $22.4 million active. Last year (FY14) approximately $6.6 million was

secured. After four months of activity in FY 15, $5.9 million dollars have already been

awarded

Supervised the Center for Excellence in Scholarship and Research, the Undergraduate

Research Center, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, the Institutional Review

Board, and the McNair Achievement Program.

In consultation with the Undergraduate Research Center Director, planned and

implemented the first system wide MN System Conference of Undergraduate Scholarly

and Creative Activity in 2012. 2nd Annual conference was hosted in 2013.

Coordinated the first MnSCU Poster Presentation at the State Capitol of Minnesota.

Supervised the curriculum redesign of the McNair program and also contributed to a $1.3

million grant proposal for five years.

Supervise 13 full-time employees and provide administrative oversight for a budget of

$1.3 million.

Provide leadership and advocacy for graduate education and research as a member of the

University’s Council of Deans.

Represent Minnesota State Mankato on the MnSCU Graduate Council.

Secured funding and developed program for service abroad in San Pedro, Belize.

Interim Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Minnesota State University, Mankato
