All students must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress regardless of payment method. At the end of payment periods all students are evaluated for satisfactory progress. Upon

determining a student is not satisfactory, they are notified and given the opportunity to appeal.

Satisfactory Academic Progress is evaluated at the end of each payment period. Students must maintain a GPA of 70%. In order to graduate by the contracted graduation date, students must attend a

minimum average of 125 hours per month. Maximum timeframe is 150% of program enrollment period.

As a clock hour program student GPAs and pace of completion are evaluated quarterly. Students transferring in will have GPA and pace of attendance calculated upon completion of a quarter.

As mandated by Federal Guidelines, the measurements of student progress toward receiving a certificate in an approved course of training must be both qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative means that the student is earning a proper number of attendance hours within in a specific time frame. Any student failing to maintain satisfactory progress, as defined by the institution will be notified and must regain Satisfactory Progress or they may become ineligible to receive aid under title IV programs at which time students will be advised of placement on financial aid warning and the right to appeal.

Students placed on financial aid warning may continue to receive assistance under the title IV, HEA program for one payment period despite a determination the student is not making satisfactory academic progress. Financial aid warning status will be assigned while allowing for an appeal or other action by the student and a student on financial aid probation may receive title IV, HEA program funds for one payment period. While a student is on financial aid probation, the institution may require the student to fulfill specific terms. At the end of one payment period on financial aid probation, the student must meet the institution’s satisfactory academic progress standards or meet the requirements of the academic plan developed by the institution in order for the student to qualify for further title IV HEA program funds.

The basis on which a student may file an appeal by reporting the death of a relative, injury or illness of student, or special circumstances accepted by the director due to the issues being resolved which will allow student to resume satisfactory progress.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE

Should a student desire a leave of absence during the course of training, a written request for a leave should be submitted to the school’s director along with a doctor’s note for approval. You are allowed one leave of absence. To qualify as an acceptable request for leave, the requested leave will be for a period not less than 30 days or more than 60 days in length and be for medical reasons approved by the school director. Approved leave will automatically change your Expected Graduation Date. i.e., with a 30 day leave an Expected Graduation Date of July 17th would become August 17th, with a 60 day leave an Expected Graduation Date of July 17th would then become September 17th. An absence of more than 10 days without approved leave is determined to be a drop.

All financial aid payments to an eligible student are suspended during a leave of absence therefore an interview with the school’s administrative staff is necessary prior to taking a leave of absence to determine any change in eligibility resulting from the leave.

Upon returning after leave, financial aid will not be dispersed to the student until hours previously paid for have been completed.
