INT. DINER -- NIGHT

Sitting alone on a stool at a counter in a diner is ZACK. Aguitar case sits by his side. ZACK sits for a moment,sipping at a cup of coffee and staring warily into themirror behind the counter. ADAM enters.

ADAMZack? What'd you need man?

Zack turns to face the younger man beside him.

ZACKI wanted to know if you wereserious about what you said theother day. About the band, abouttaking over for me if I ever neededit.

ADAMOf course. Why?

Zack pulls up the guitar case sitting beside him and lays iton the counter.

ZACKI've been doing some thinking.About what's been said recently,about what's going to happen in ourlives. And I've decided maybe itstime for me to do something

different, ya know?

Zack slides the guitar case over to Adam, who stares on inawe.

ZACKYou've earned everything in thatcase, Adam.

Zack pulls some money from his pocket and throws it on thecounter, patting Adam on the back as he leaves. Adam slowlyopens the case as Zack exits to...

EXT. STREET -- NIGHT TIME

Zack walks slowly down the street, his hands in his pockets,when he stops in his tracks and looks up.

In the distance, the silhouetted figure of DRAGON CAESARstands. He takes a deep raspy breath and unsheathes thelong, curved blade from his back.

Instinctively Zack slams together the plates attached tobands on his wrist, and an electric buzz fills the airbefore he drags them across each other, black and white

energy erupting and surrounding his body, turning Zack intoMAMMOTH RANGER! As the energy dissipates, Zack grasps thelarge, stylized axe on his back and stands with it raised,



his right hand at the top near its head and his left handgripping the middle of the hilt.

ZACKI've been thinking about what yousaid. About how it comes to this,in the end. Just like before.

Dragon Caesar raises his sword and steps toward Zack.

In one smooth movement, Zack turns his wrist and drops theaxe, gripping the trigger handle in its body and cocking aguard back in its handle.

ZACKNot this time.

Five successive shots ring out from the cannon in Zack'shand, striking around Dragon Caesar and hitting him

directly, smoke engulfing the area. Zack flips a switch andthe cannon's barrel drops. He begins reloading the cannon,a solid, echoing thump as each drops into place, when helooks up at the clearing smoke. Dragon Caesar, apparentlyunharmed by the explosion, dashes through the remainingwisps of smoke, waving his sword wildly and howling like ananimal.

Zack pops the barrel of the cannon back in place and swingsit back around in a fluid movement, using the handle toblock Dragon Caesar's sword before turning it back around.

CUT TO

INT. DINER -- NIGHT

Adam lifts up the guitar and, for the first time, notices asleek black crystal underneath the neck of the guitar. Hepicks it up and looks around before rising for the door.

CUT TO


Zack brings his axe down on Dragon Caesar, but he counterswith the sword and knocks the axe out of Zack's hand, andknocks Zack himself off balance. As Zack is turned againsthis will, Dragon Caesar reaches forward and grabs Zack'sneck and, as he pulls him back, drives his sword through hischest. As blood pours from Zack's chest, Dragon Caesar ripsZack's helmet off him, hissing in his ear.

DRAGON CAESAR(softly)

I've waited...a long time...towatch you die.

Adam, not far away, exits the diner and takes in the scene,

watching in horror.

With the last of his strength, Zack leans his head back so



that Dragon Caesar could hear him.

ZACK(weakly)

I know...why you did this. Youwant...to take us out one at atime. To weaken us. To break

us...

CUT TO

INT. COMMAND CENTER

The remaining Rangers stand around the Command Center, whichis a mess of wires and destroyed consoles. The area whereZordon would appear is dim and empty. Alpha is disassembledentirely as Billy attempts to reconnect all his wiring. Theremaining Rangers are attempting to put together some brokenpiece of their wrecked center when a console in the corner

sparks and buzzes to life.

COMPUTERWARNING! MAMMOTH RANGER G10-01STATUS CRITICAL!

JASONWhat...?

BILLYThat's Zack.

The Rangers look at each other. Jason grabs his helmet and

dashes out of the Command Center.

CUT TO

INT. COMMAND CENTER LAUNCHING PAD

Jason pulls on his helmet and jumps into a Cutter, Billyfollowing closely behind.

BILLYWe don't have enough power to get alock on, but I can teleport him outif you can get me exactcoordinates.

JASONJust get this fixed. We'll both beback soon.

The Cutter takes off, shooting out the launching pad exit ofthe Command Center and streaking towards the city.

CUT TO


Same shot as before, with Zack leaning towards Dragon Caesar



ZACK(weakly)

I've...prepared for this...

Zack's head falls back as Dragon Caesar drops his nowlifeless body.

ADAM(screaming)

ZACK!!!

Dragon Caesar for the first time notices Adam and hisses.He grabs Zack's cast aside axe and whips it at Adam.

As the axe comes closer to Adam, the crystal in his handsglows bright and brighter before finally shattering,enveloping Adam in a bright light. The axe, once flyingfreely in the air, suddenly changes direction and embedsitself into the ground in front of where Adam stands.

As the energy dies down, the crystal is gone. Adam nowstands in the Mammoth Ranger uniform, crouched over andgripping his head. Across the visor, a series of lines oftext and numbers are flashing in front of his eyes.

COMPUTERSENTIENT LEARNING TRANSFERCOMPLETE.

Adam rises to stand tall, shaking his head as if he haswoken from a long sleep.

ADAMOoooh....

COMPUTERMAMMOTH RANGER G10-02 ONLINE ANDREADY FOR DUTY.

Dragon Caesar grips what has happened. He grabs his swordonce more and howls, charging towards Adam. Adam, regaininghis senses, grabs the axe and braces for the worst....

The screen goes black suddenly.
