Awesome Animal sHomework Menu
Here is your homework menu for Term 5. Each week you should choose one task to complete. Homework books will be sent home on a Friday and are due back in by the following Thursday.
Teddy Bear’s sleepover!
Our class bear, m Biscuit Bear, will continue to be sent home with each child in the class for a week. During the week you have Biscuit Bear your homework will be to fill in his diary book and come to school prepared to talk to the class about your week with him.
Geography
In Geography we will be naming and finding the continents on
world maps and in atlases. Have a look at a map or an atlas with
an adult and find out 5 interesting facts about a
continent. You could find out about the types of animals which
are found on that continent!
Poetry Corner
Create a poem about your favourite animal. You could
create a shape poem, a rhyming poem, an acrostic
poem…
Animal Art
Create a (small!) model of an animal of your choice. See if you can find
out something interesting about it to tell the class.
Measuring Madness
In maths we are looking at how to measure length, weight and capacity. Try measuring things around your house. Here
are some ideas:
Measure out ingredients for a recipe using scales.
Find and order containers according to their capacity.
Use a ruler to measure objects around the house to the nearest cm (for year 1) and nearest mm (for year 2).
Animal instincts
Create your own animal.
Think about where it will live, what features you will give it to help it live there
and what it might eat.
Deadly 60
Research your favourite deadly animal and make
a fact file about it including labelled
diagrams and information about what
makes it deadly.
