Home News Awards Outstanding venues honoured at inaugural London Venue Awards
Category: Awards Created on Monday, 19 October 2015 12:00
Venues from across the capital were honoured at the first London Venue Awards on Friday, with 320 industry
professionals attending the celebratory lunch at the Emirates Stadium.
Awards were presented across 15 categories following a rigorous judging process carried out by a panel of over 30
outstanding representatives with expertise from all facets of the industry. An additional category saw employees past
and present voting for the ‘Best Venue To Work For’, with the Business Design Centre emerging victorious.
The London Venue Awards are organised by the Global Conference Network (GCN), who also run industry-leading awards
programmes such as the Conference Awards and Association Excellence Awards. Rory Ross Russell, Co-Director of the GCN,
comments: “We were overwhelmed by the volume and quality of the entries we received for these awards. We always knew that
London was full of superb venues, but this is the first time they have really been given the recognition they deserve.
“We would like to congratulate all the winners and commiserations to those that didn’t make it – picking victors certainly wasn’t an easy process! In some categories the
decision was so close that we presented ‘Marks of Excellence’ to those that didn’t quite win. I’m already looking forward to seeing what the 2016 entries have to offer.”

Active Team Training was the big winner at this year’s EVCOM Clarion
Awards, taking home five awards including three golds.
The company won the accolades for their film An Epic Experience: A
Day in the Death of Michael Clarke for Tideway.
The awards ceremony, which took place on Wednesday 31
September, also honoured GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) with the coveted
Champion Award for its humanitarian response during the Ebola crisis.

Spectrecom Films and J Walter Thompson who each took two gold
awards.
The Clarion Awards were hosted by Stuart Rock and were held at
Seven Dials Club in Covent Garden.
Steve Garvey, EVCOM chairman, said: “We are always amazed to
see the creativity of the work evolve, expand and impact audiences of
all levels. Without such ground-breaking communications, engagement
concerning social and or environmental issues could otherwise go
unnoticed and more importantly, unchallenged.
“This year’s record number of entries and its sold out event prove that
through working together we can uncover, share and scale exciting
ideas and stories for a thriving future. Congratulations again to all our
winners. We are truly honoured to honour you.”
The awards are now in their 12th year, after being established in 2003
to identify the role of the communicator in encouraging ethical culture
and fostering higher levels of engagement with social or environmental
issues.
The awards were sponsored by drp, Integro ACJ, George P. Johnson,
PRG XL Video, Present Communications, Juice, Cascade Productions,
Barbican, ACrew4U, The Sequel Group, nh Hotel Group and Barford
