City of Glendale Judicial Selection Advisory Board Application Deadline: Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 Purpose: To seek out and encourage qualified individuals to apply for the office of Judge of the Glendale City Court; conduct investigations into the background and qualifications of said individuals/applicants; submit recommendations regarding candidates for appointment or reappointment to the Chief Presiding City Court Judge and the Mayor, who thereafter shall convene the City Council for the purpose of inter- viewing all candidates recommended. Openings: One. Karen Karr has resigned from the board due to her relocation outside the Glendale city limits. The other board members are: Judge Philip Hall, Arizona Court of Appeals; Judge Colleen McNally, Maricopa County Superior Court; Judge Elizabeth Finn, Glendale City Court (non-voting member); Peter E. Van Camp, Maricopa County Bar Association representative; and public members Karen Ewing, Martin Samaniego and Art Dobbelaere. The Board of Governors is asked to submit three nominations to the Glendale City Council for its ultimate selection to fill the State Bar designated seat. Criteria/Qualifications: Applicants must be active members of, and in good standing with, the State Bar of Arizona and reside in the City of Glendale.
