Service-oriented group in applied health sciences

The BAPP research group of IMIM-UPF focuses its activity on several areas of biological chemistry (bioanalysis, protein and peptide, proteomics), pharmacology, toxicology and new drug development.

Formed by two highly “Qualified Research grups” (according to the nomenclature of Government of Catalonia)

Objectives

•Perform basic and applied research in clinical assay and bio analysis, protein and peptide chemistry and proteomics •Provide analytical services to the pharmaceutical industry, public and private institutions •Provide Consultancy and assessment services in our expertise areas•Increase technology transfer in these areas

The main expertise areas of our group are linked to the structural determination of biomolecules from both low and high molecular mass, as well as to the synthesis of peptides and related substances.

•Site-specifically modified synthetic peptides: acetylation, lipidation, glycosylation, biotinylation, fluorophore labeling, other
