ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT

*********************************************************************** Jamie’s Journal

Liberal or Legalist?

He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD. (Proverbs 17:15 NKJV) The first part of this verse describes a liberal (He who justifies the wicked). He does not restrict himself to the literal meaning of God's word, and tolerates other views. He is a law breaker. The second part of the verse describes a legalist (he who condemns the just). He will make laws in addition to God's word, and will condemn those who do not follow them to his liking. He is a law maker. Our God is clear in both the Old and New Testaments: Therefore you shall be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. (Deuteronomy 5:32) For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19) Let us be careful to keep the law of Christ, (Gal. 6:2) and not bind laws on others where the Lord has not. (Matt. 23:4) Remember, His commandments are not burdensome. (I John 5:3) Brotherly, Jamie Bible Question: Who was the first shepherd found in the Bible? Answer: See back page
