about us
Bamboo Lives Enterprise was established in 2013 as visionary bamboo
entrepreneurs. Our main aim is to create a sustainable concept of living using
bamboo as our main material. We aspire to build eco-friendly homes, family
oriented resorts and nature loving institutions with a touch of modern furniture by
using cost effective and lightweight bamboos available locally in Malaysia. With
a strong background in hospitality, architecture design and construction, our
team understands the challenge it needs to deliver and construct a completed
bamboo building project from conceptual design.
Bamboo has more than 1500 species with over 70 species available with
abundance in Malaysia. It is not a tree but a type of grass that grows very quick
and a perfect alternative to timber. It has long been regarded as a poor man’s
timber but with the current awareness of sustainable design, bamboo can easily
be adapted into modern types of design while applying green technology. It is
very cost effective and lightweight making it easy to handle and construct with.
It is also naturally aesthetically pleasing with cooling effects due to its thermal
properties.
It is vital to preserve bamboo from its harvest with its many techniques to make it
last long and durable and strong to withstand loads, impact, weather, fungal and
other types of deteriorating attacks. With proper knowledge, bamboo can be
acquired in vast amounts and various sizes in a short period of time with minimal
investment, thus maximizing profits.
At the moment, the bamboo industry thrives in Thailand and Indonesia with very
few experts in Malaysia, and therefore Bamboo Lives Enterprise tends to fill the
gap of revolutionizing bamboo in Malaysia as building materials and reviving the
traditional architecture to meet modern and contemporary designs.
