Minimum Entry Requirements
Institute of Technology: Five passes at ordinary level including English & Maths.
Universities: need Six subjects – at least two at higher level.

Specific Course Requirements:
For exampleHigher level Irish for Primary School
TeachingHigher Level Chemistry for VeterinaryHigher Level Maths for Engineering &
Actuary in University.Higher Level Biology for Human Health &

Points
1. A student’s points are calculated from his/ her best six subjects.2. All subjects give equal points except for higher level maths where bonus points are awarded for all courses.3. Students can gain an additional 25 points if they have higher level maths. Rachelle McDonagh
