AIRPORT TAXAn airport departure tax of Rp.150.000,- is levied by the airport authority for travellers leaving on international flights and Rp.35.000,- for domestic flights.  The tax must be paid in Rupiah.

 

TRANSPORTATIONThe official hotel and the meeting venue can be reached from Ngurah Rai airport in Bali by taxi, which will cost about US$ 8.00. To go around Nusa Dua area, Taxi can be hired through the hotel concierge. There are a lot of taxis at the airport , prefer to use BALI TAXI and insist they use a METER. Depending on traffic, the trip could take up to 30 Minutes to the Hotel.

 

CURRENCYThe currency is the Indonesian Rupiah, with paper notes in denominations of 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000, 100,000 and coins of 25,50, 100, 200, 500, 1,000.Only Rupiah is acceptable at regular stores and restaurants.  Most hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops accept certain foreign currencies and credit cards.  You can buy Rupiah at foreign exchange banks and other authorised moneychangers on presentation of your passport. The exchange rate fluctuates regularly, check your bank for the latest exchange rates.  The exchange rate for   US$ 1.00 is approximately Rp.9.000,- in June 2012. 

TRAVELLER CHECKS ANDCREDIT CARDSTraveller checks are accepted by leading banks and hotels in principal cities.  The use of traveller checks in Indonesia is as popular as in any other countries.  Diners Club and American Express, Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted at hotels, department stores, shops, restaurants and nightclubs.  According to the Indonesian banking regulations, payment by credit cards should be charged in local currency.

CLIMATEBali has such a mild climate whole year round.  The sunny days within dry season between May and September are warm and pleasant, while in rainy season between October and April, tropical shower will alternate with clear sky and sunshine. The average temperature of the day in coastal areas varies from about 28oC (82oF) during May, June, July, to about 30oC (86oF) in March and October. It is approximately one and half hour drive to the highland where temperature varies from 16oC to 26oC and it is known to drop to about 8oC during the night. The humidity is high (from a minimum of 70% to a maximum of 95%). The weather is most pleasant between May to September.

INDONESIA STANDARD TIMEIndonesia’s three time zones have been changed as shown below:

1. Western Indonesia Standard Time is GMT plus 7 (GMT +7) hours (meridian 105oE), covering all provinces in Sumatra and Java, and the provinces of West and Central Kalimantan.

2. Central Indonesia Standard Time is GMT plus 8 (GMT +8) hours (meridian 120oE), covering the provinces of East and South Kalimantan, all provinces in Sulawesi, and the provinces of Bali, West and East Nusatenggara and East Timor.

3. Eastern Indonesia Standard Time is GMT plus 9 (GMT +9) hours (meridian 135oE), covering the provinces of Maluku and Irian Jaya.
