2013 Thursday Night League Final!
The 2013 Thursday Night League winner was Team Casullo. Team Casullo
included Dan Casullo, Barry Sandrow, Ed Cooper, Tony Merlino, and Hugh Rainey.
They defeated Team Schultz in the championship. Team Schultz included Carl
Schultz, Bryan Schultz, Fred Shapiro, Phil Yampolsky, and Jon Kartman. Team
Gilberg and Team Pack played in the constellation match where they ended the
match in a tie to split 3rd place. Team Gilberg included Ken Gilberg, Mike Wachs,
Dr. David Rosen, Lou Barson, and Craig Butchenhart. Team Pack included Brad
Pack, Dr. Jerry Miller, and Mark Goldberg.

Food Minimums Don’t forget December 31, 2013 is the last day to use up your food minimum! There are many social events coming
up to help you eat away at what’s left on your food minimum. Make sure to check the social calendar for all events
and menus. All upcoming events are listed on the calendar of events, on the front page of the member website, and
the newsletter.

Bala Men’s Bridge The Bala Men’s Bridge Team finished another successful season in the Inter Country Club
Men’s Bridge League with a final record of four wins and two losses. Our 2013 team included
Gerry Korn, Hal Mathews, Max Mendel, Jay Ochroch, Ted Lafair, Lou Sernoff (captain), Tom
Smith, Merle Wolfson and Bernie Siegel. Additional thank you to our substitute players Dermott Murphy, Joan
Mendel, Joan Ochroch, Linda Smith and Gail Sernoff. The members of each team in the league have the opportunity
to enjoy a full day which includes lunch, golf, cocktails, dinner and bridge at various clubs in our area. The country
clubs that participate in the league are Radnor Valley, Green Valley, Philmont, Blue Bell, Laurel Creek, Huntingdon
Valley, Meadowlands, Sandy Run, Rolling Green and Bala.

Duplicate Bridge is offered
the first Friday of every
month starting March 2013. There will
be a buffet dinner prior to bridge.
Dinner is 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Bridge is 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

Bala Golf Club would like to extend a warm welcome to it newest members. These men and women are

Bala Golf Club’s New Members:
Important message to ALL Golfing Members We will be doing renovations on both the men’s and women’s
locker rooms over the winter months beginning in January 2014.
We ask that you please remove all of your belongings from your
locker prior to the end of this year. All golfing members will retain
their locker space and will be able to return to the locker room
after all renovations have been completed.
**If you will be leaving for the winter prior to December 31st,
please clear out your locker before you go.
