Problem Statement

To design and build a machine that would decorate cakes, cookies, and anything that is placed upon it with a frosting design predetermined by the owner, and be reasonable in price.

Background

In baking business decoration is important aesthetically pleasing = $$$$ decorating costs time and is tedious

Not all bakers are good decorators.

Background Continued

The average mom and pop bakery cannot afford such a device.

very large and used to pushing out thousands

Constraints of Ideal System

A device that is cheap enough for normal bakeries to own.

Limited mechanics Small in size Easy to use Makes quick quality patterns.

Prototype Parameters

4 inch maximum cookie. 3 predetermined designs. Monitor frosting usage amount needed

for design. Limited to one frosting color.

Solution

Similar to record player Use a rotating mechanism to turn the

cookie. An Arcing arm will deliver frosting to any

radius. User interface :

4 buttons (Reset, Pattern 1-3) LED indicators

Manual frosting extrusion
