"Steward" - "Emploee in a large family, or on a large estate" Webster's Dictionary.

For many years we are employed by the largest family of Children of God - theChurch and our ministry is entrusted to us by the church on a large estate - theworld. Over S 100,000.00 you gave gladly and willingly during the past year and we thank you and God for it.Now in the begining of this new 1980 year we want to give an account of our ste-warsdhip:We all were and are engaged in the great ministry of preaching the preciousGospel from the pulpits, in homes, through radio and cassett ministry, publica -tions, distribution of Bibles and New Testaments, letters anri hospitality.Last year we preached in over 100 churches in America and Poland, hold 20 FaithPromise Rallies, preached to Slavic people in Baltimore.Twice a week the Gospel is beamed through powerful station in Europe to Polandand other countries in Europe. FORGOTTEN MEN

Attending National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Washington, D.C. lastJanuary I was impressed with the message entitled "Forgotten Men".The speaker developed his theme around those who were gathered - the religiousbroadcasters - men who sit behind the microphones. People hear their messagebut they do not think about the mess anger. How true that is. But it concerns not only the broadcasters. We can say thesame about Christian writers, translators, poets, compor.ersPeople read and demand good articles, listen to messages in song or in wordand judge them by their contest but how seldom they think about the messanger, the one who puts his whole heart into the ministry!

But we thank God that we are not forgotten by God's people, who pray constantly for us and the work we do, who are concerned about our wellbeing and sharewith us the blessings of life-Not only your gifts toward our work speak loudly about your love, but yourprayers, your words of encouragement expressed in your letters, your interestin us and the message we preach. You remember also those faithful preachers in Poland who preach and win soulsfor Christ because of your love.

We seldom write in our .nev;sletters about ourselves. We report about the workwe do.But this time I would like to say few words about Bro. Winnik. He came to thiscountry 13 years ago at the age of 59 to work with us. For 13 years thisfaithful servant worked dilligently, many times not noticed by many of us.He had three heart attacks, but every tiic.^ soon after recovery he was back atwork preparing radio messages, cassettes, answering letters, packing and sending out literature.Januaiy 30 th Bro. Winnik was hospitalized again, 2 days later - in intensi-

  • ve care. When I saw hu him Feb 1st I thought we lost Bro. Winnik for good. Weprayed like never before individually and as the church, and now there is hopethat Bro. Winnik will retur.n and work with us again /of course with a much easier load/.

We ask you to pray for Bro.Winnik that the Lord will restore his health and thathis smiling face will bring joy to many of us as he preaches the Word, especiallythrough the cassette ministry, so that many souls in Poland will accept Lord Jezusas their personal Saviour.

Once more we thank yuo that although we are forgotten by this world, we are notforgotten by YOU!

    FROM THE FIELDS

    POLAND:

"Dear Bro. Bajko. We thank God for the new house of worship. Having our own place we have more activities: special meetings, revivals, youth groups, etc.We thank God that we had several baptismal services in 1980 - 10 souls were addedby the Lord to the Church, all of them young people. We still remeber your last visit in our church, your preaching and fellowship.Wewish you God*s blessing in your work. Please remeirfjer us in your prayers. P.N."Warszawa."Dear Brethren. In few words we would like to inform you that we all are well.I would like to thank you, for the gift which I received just before Christmas. In our Church in Warsaw we experience spiritual revival. Young souls accept LordJesus Christ and are baptized into Christ. Ourmission place in Jak. will becomean independent congregation with own preacher, Erwin Karz. Also there is enough of people in the district of Brudna to organize a church, butthey do not have a place where to worship. Presently they meet in the house ofthe deacon Br. Wl. J. Please pray for all of us and help us to get the place ofworship in Brudna. We thank you for your help in spreading the Gospel in Polandand your vital interest in our work. Yours W.W"

"Dear Bro Bajko. We are very happy Co report that two years ago here where T amnow a minister, was only one church. Now we have three and in each there is alocated minister. We have also 3 mission places.Last year six precious souls were added to the church. Our building is inbeautiful shape: everything is renovated and the new organ plays beautifully. We thank you very, very much for the help. We thank you and the supporting chvrchin Tallahassee for their regular support that I can preach the Gospel.

It is hard to visit on foot the members of the church, radio listeners, the sickand people who need Christ. I try to do ny best. If I had a car, ny ministrywould be more effective, but I try to do the best I can. Please remember us in your prayers, and once more thank you for all you have done for us. R.SZ."

    RADIO LISTENER

"I do not know how to begin writing this letter to you. I was not interested inreligion and this subject was far away from ray mind, and I was under the influence of other teachings. The other day, when we were having dinner, my son, agefive, put a question to me: "How do we go to heaven?" and "What is God?" I didnot know what to tell him and he repeated these questions a few times. I thinkthere will be more of these questions in the future. On 29th of April, when Iput the radio on shortwave, your program was on and the message was about Godand heaven. I listened to the end because I had never heard before such an inte -resting subject. From that time I regularly listen to this program twice a weekand you are convincing me that I shoud change my views about ny life. Ify wife, son and I listen to your program together and we are very grateful for it. Iwould like to ask you if it is possible to send me some literature also, if possible, please send me the Holy Scripture because it is difficult to get it inour town. Lately I spoke to my friend and mentioned to him about this programand he told me he had listened to it for a long time and he had got a small Bible from you. I would willingly pay for one but how can I? and where? I shallbe waiting for a letter from you. B.W."

The world is full of problems: unrest, frustration, terrorism, etc. There isno good news in the world today. But in times like these people need onething - salvation and Savior.

We thank God that through you we can bring the Gospel - the Good News from Godto many people who find peace and joy in our wonderful Lord Jesus Christ. In this newsletter we want to share with you Good News which we carry every daythrough our preachers in Poland, through publications. Bibles and Radio ministry.First we would like to share with you the excerpts from a letter of a youngpreacher in Poland.

"Dear Bvo. Bajko. The time flies so fast. We are very busy. In addition tomy duties as the minister in K. We also thank you for gifts send tous for renovation of our chapel where we plan to move by the end of this summer.

The last few days I was very busy with one of our prospects who became veryill - cancer. It took lots of effort to locate him in a hospital. His situationfrom human standpoint is hopeless, but God can do everything. Please pray together with us for him and especially for his family. He is very close to thetruth but his wife and two daughters are not so close and may harden theirhearts against God. But we believe that God can change their hearts.

  • RADIO MINISTRY ~ George and Vexa Bajenski

Dear Christian Friends, we would like to share with you a word or two about ourlife and our work, and to express our deepest appreciation for all your prayexsand financial support in our ministry.

In these difficult and unsettled times, Poland continues to be one of the fewcountries in this world where the preaching of the Gospel of our Lord JesusChrist, through radio, is producing very effective results. New souls are beingsaved, and new churches are being established, and all of this is possible because of the faithfulness of many who love and care for the Truth.

As you have already been informed, as of January of this year, all the respon -sibility of our Polish Radio Ministry is resting on my shoulders. I do thankGod for this privilege of preaching, singing, recording, and writing about Himfor His glory! Brother Winnik, to whom God has restored better health from hisrecent illness, is working with a cassette ministry, and other activities, asmuch as the Lord is giving him strength. Thus, our radio ministry continues tobring'joy, peace, and salvation to many. Please do continue to uphold us in your prayers.

With God*s help we are trying to expand our ministry by adding new types of radio programs. We have started producing a new program called, "The Gospel presented in Song." Presently once a month this program takes place of our regularweekly broadcast, but in the future, as funds permit, we would like to have itbroadcasted more often. We develop this program by using several hymns or gospelsongs, which are supported with appropriate Bible verses, short comments, someinteresting story as to how the song was written, or the personal testimony ofthe author and composer. This way the Gospel is being effectively presentedthrough the outreach of music. Slavic people, as you know, are very sensitive tomusic, and we pray that these programs will reach the hearts of many.

At this time I would like to leave with you one request. We have a need, and anopportunity to reach people in Poland with the Gospel through music. RecordedChristian music is not readily available in Poland, but we receive many lettersrequesting, if it is possible, to send some good religious music on tape or records. We would like to answer these requests, and at the same time build up amusic reference library for our radio programs. If you have some new or usedmisical records that you would like to contribute to our Polish ministry, wewould make good use of them. Appropriate songs or musical numbers would be usedfor our radio programs, and some records would be sent to our many friends inPoland who are asking for Christian music. This music can be vocal or instrumental, gospel or much enjoyed spiritual sacred music. You may send it to ouraddress: Department of Missions - Radio Ministry

  • Just one more piece of information from our personal life and future plans.During the last three years of our life and service here in Maryland, we have developed in our family some health problems - respiratory difficulties such asallergies and asthua. As time is passing, we see that these health problems areprogressively getting worse, therefore, after consulting with our doctors, discussing this with our Mission Committee, and above all, after much prayer wehave started to look into the possibility of relocation from Maryland to someother more acceptable climate, from where we would be able to continue our Polish Radio ministry. Please remember us in this special way in your prayers, as we are seeking God*sguidance. We will be informing you in our future letters of all developments.

Yours, in His service. George and Vera Bajenski

    WHAT A summer!

    SEP ^ 2 ^980

    Paul Bajko,Director

    September, 1980

July 15th after an 11 hours long flight we landed in Honoluluwhere we attended the World Convention of Churches of Christ. It was a very good convention with lots of good preaching by Bro. F. D. Haggard, R.F. Blowers, Th. Benjamim, E. LeRoy Lawson and many others. There was great congregational singing and very good numbers by many choirsand the Brass Ensemble from Ozark Bible College.Very impresive was the final service with the Lord*s Supper led by Bro. A.W. Lee, general secretary of the Convention. I prayed for the cup in Polishand English.

While in Hawaii we took one week of vacation - the only week this year.

We returned home July 29. In two days I maneged to look through the correspondence, answered the most important letters, Dela did the laundry and onFriday Audust 1st, on my birthday, we were on our way to North Carolina forthe wedding of our son, George, who was married to a lovely girl August 2nd.After the wedding we immediately drove back and arrived home at 2 AM, and by9 AM I was already in the Boulevard Christian Church in Baltimore where Italked during the Sunday School about our Polish ministry and preached during the worship hour.

Another two hectic days and August 6th we were on our way to Poland. There we were met by several Christian Friends and for 5 days attended seminars for teachers.Sunday August 10 I preached at the Warsaw Church of Christ and we had greatfellowship with many Christians.

  • Polish Ministers

August 15, 29 preachers from all over Poland came to Warsaw to meet with me.First we had a general meeting where we heard about the accomplishments, problems and the Ostroda Project. Then I had individual conversation with eachminister which lasted till midnight.Next day I went to Ostroda and Dela remained in Warsaw where she visited many homes. In Ostroda I saw the progress of the camp-building. The work is slow butgoes on. There I discussed the further progress of the building and I wasassured that by winter the building will be under the roof.It is a big structure, bigger than I expected. The progress is slow because of lack of building material. That day I also visited home for Senior Citizens in Ostroda, had fellowshipwith Bro. Paul Wrobel and his family and then went to Olsztyn. Here I talkedwith Bro. Kobus, minister of the local church, till 1 AM and then preached atthe morning service and late in the evening returned to Warsaw.Next day August 18th early in the morningwe left Poland on our way back to theU.S.A.

It was good to be back to our wonderful country of America.

    Here are ny impressions about work in Poland;

    t. Our ministers preach faithfully the Gospel and souls are won for Christ.

    - 2 -

  • 2. Many people are listening to our broadcasts from Monte Carlo and IBRAstations and there are visible results.

    3. Literature which we publish is reaching the destination and peopleask for more.

    4. All churches are united behind the Ostoda Project and send working teams there.

    5. Preachers are very grateful for support which they receive throughthe Department of Missions so they can preach the Gospel freelywithout worrying about the support of their families.

Poland is open for the Gospel and nobody is interfering with the preaching. In Churches they have Sunday Schools for children. Youth meetings, revivalsand Rallies. They distribute literature freely.

Economy in Poland is in a bad shape. The summer was rainy and very cold withmany floods and crops are ruined. There is visible shortage of many things. We have to come with more help to our Christian friends.Despite all that our brethren in Poland try to raise over 100,000.00 Zlotytoward Ostroda Project but according my estimation they will be short of a-nother 5-6 thousand dollars to finish the building in Ostroda. We have to raise this ammount of money here and send them as soon as possible. they need our HELP!

For enlarging of some church buildings we need another 5 thousand dollars.

THERE IS AN IMMEDIATE NEED OF S 11,000.00.

We appeal to you in the name of the Lord to help us toraise this amount.

We know that you give sacrificially and we appreciate it andthank you. But I hope that we all realize that we are the mostblessed people on this earth. The Lord is blessing all of us.

In comparison with other coutries we do not have any inflation. We do not pay over S 3.00 for a gallon of regular gasoline orS 5.00 for a pound of beef. Our prices are the lowest in theworld. We have everything.

Please share with those who are in great need of the Gospel ofChris t.

    Yours in Christ,
