Entrance close lower entrance Week 1 set up Week 2 Remove all non brood frames from the existing brood box. Close with dummy boards. Add a clean brood box with frames of sterilised drawn comb. Move the queen with the frame she is on into the clean box. Use dummy boards to close frames together. Insert the Bailey board and close the lower entrance. Feed 2:1 (thick) syrup A method of transferring a weak colony of bees onto new drawn comb without loosing brood and causing as little stress as possible BAILEY COMB CHANGE FOR A WEAK COLONY Remove old frame from top box to lower box LEAVING THE QUEEN IN THE TOP BOX. Add 2-3 sterilised drawn comb to the top box. Check old box for queen cells and remove if found. Feed Week 4-5 Place upper brood box on clean floor and open entrance. Add addition drawn comb until full compliment is reached.
