Page 11: ba_hons_english_for_international_corporate_communication ... Web viewf) BA (Hons) EICC with Chinese (for non-native speakers of Mandarin Chinese) Chinese Language 3. Understanding

Programme Specifications include minimum entry requirements, including academic qualifications, together with appropriate experience and skills required for entry to study. These criteria may be expressed as a range rather than a specific grade. Amendments to entry requirements may have been made after these documents were published and you should consult the University’s website for the most up to date information.

Students will be informed of their personal minimum entry criteria in their offer letter.

Admission to a named foreign language pathway may be subject to interview and test in the foreign language. Students who are not accepted on the named foreign language pathway but who have the requisite level of English will be able to study BA (Hons) EICC.

Entry into Level 4 requires a minimum of CEF B1, IELTS 5.0 or equivalent and a good record of marks from secondary school. School-leaving qualifications and records will be considered on an individual basis as international education systems vary considerably. In addition, students would have as pre-requisites an ‘A’ level (or equivalent) entry qualification in the language of their choice.

Entry into Level 5 requires a minimum CEF low B2, IELTS 5.5 or equivalent and at least one year of undergraduate study in a field related to English Language and/or Business Communication in English plus one year of their language of choice studied at undergraduate level.

Direct entry into Level 6 requires a minimum of CEF high B2, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent and at least 2 years of undergraduate study in a field related to English Language and/or Business Communication in English. plus two years of language studied at university (60 credits: 40 at Level 1, 20 at Level 2) and normally an additional 20-40 credits at Level 2 (society/translation/business/literature).

The course is open to students for whom English is not the main language of the home. Therefore students with English at the equivalent of IELTS 8.0 or above would not normally be admitted..
