Dear Melia Sari,

I’m sorry, I haven’t written for so long. My family and I have just returned from an

interesting holiday at Sengigi Beach, Nusa Tengara Barat. The seashore was covered

by white sand and coconut trees. We swan in the beach, ate fish from the beach and

enjoyed the cool breezes.

After that, we had a four hours trip to Mount Rinjani, a magnificient mount which

was clean, clear and friendly. Our trip to the peak of the mount took us to the Lake

Segara Anak, Caldera, and a waterfall. The beautiful valley and and pine trees can be

seen everywhere. I really enjoy my vacation. Do come over and have a look

sometime.

One of the most interesting places to visit in Singapore is the Bird Park. It is located in

the industrial area in Singapore, called Jurong. The bird park is about twelve kilometers

there are hundreds of beautiful birds from many different parts of the world, including

Becaks were banned within the Jakarta city limits in 1994 due to their propensity to cause

traffic jams. Former President Soeharto (and others) also wanted to eradicate becak from the

The Old Man and the Durian Tree

In a very quiet little village, lived an old man whose age was over 80 years old.

My First Experience to Ride Motorcycle

One day, when I was ten years old, my father bought an old motorcycle. That was

“Honda 75". I think it was small light object and easy to ride it. I persuaded my father to

teach me to ride “Honda 75 ". Firstly, my father refused my request and promised that he

would teach me two or three years later, but I still whimpered. Finally, my father

surrendered and promised to teach me.

He began to teach me riding the motorcycle around a field in my village. My father was

very patient to give me some directions. I was very happy when I realized my ability to ride

a motorcycle. “Yes, I can".

One day later, when I was alone at home, I intended to try my riding ability. So, I tried

bravely. All ran fluently in the beginning, but when I was going back to my home and I

must pass through a narrow slippery street, I got nervous. I lost my control and I fell to the

ditch.

After that, I told my father about the last accident. I imagined my father would be angry

and never let me ride again. But the reality is exactly on the contrary, my father was very

Crispy Hash Brown Recipe

Ingredients :

3 tbsp olive oil, canola oil or grape seed oil

1 lb russel backing potatoes, peeled and grated, salt and pepper.

Method :

1. Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a large frying pan on medium heat.

2. Squeeze out as much moisture as you can from the grated potatoes. It’s easier to

do this with potatoes ricer. If you don’t have it, you can use paper towel to

squeeze it.

3. Add the grated potatoes on the hot frying pan, spread them out along the bottom

of the pan, Sprinkle some salt and pepper on the potatoes. If they have been fried

to golden brown, they are ready for a flip. Continue to cook until they are golden

brown on the bottom. Put them on the serving plate. Serve for 4 people.
