At

that

time,

the

Laws

of

the

"Aqdas"hadnotbeen revealed,and secondly,Hewas following the Lawsofthe previous Dispensation and the customs of the people of His own land.(LetterfromUniversalHouseofJustice:1998,April06,MemorandumreWivesofBah'u'llh)

Note:Readers should also pay attention to the following points from the event ofBadasht:

Islamwhichhad lasted formore than1,200 yearswasannulledbyagroupofindividualswho collected inBadasht.Asper theseBabis, Islam isover;Quran,Namazand fastingareuseless; theDayof Judgmenthas comeandgone.Oneneeds tobeawareof suchhereticbeliefswhichtheBahaishide fromordinaryMuslims.TheseBabis incidentallyhadnostanding intheirreligiontillthistime,yet they made the bold announcement of annulling Islam and who gave therightstothegatheredonestomakesuchadecision?

ThereisconfusionontheroleofBahaullahintheeventofBadasht.Olderbooksofhistory(Taarikhe'Jadid,Traveller'sNarrative,andNuqtatulKaf)have ignoredhis rolecompletely,whereas thosehistorieswritten laterby theBahais (DawnBreakers) have raised his position to that of the hero of Badasht. Why thisdiscrepancy?Bahaullah'salleged leading role inBadashtconferencearedevoidof historical foundation. It appears that they are intended to bolster up hispretensionsandtoconnecthimwithTheBab.
