building and plant structures are designed so as to

withstand expected severity of the earthquake. This

will be necessary to prevent loss of life and damage

to property.

Landslides are the common features in mountainous

terrain. The probability of landslides increases when

it rains. Slope stabilization measures such as

diversion drains, retaining walls, crib structures

trenches spurs and retards for seasonal streams shall

be implemented on highest priority so as to prevent

landslides in totality.
