Our Divine Mercy family is grow-
ing! Last week we welcomed 8
new UPK students, allowing us to
split our Pre-K into two sections.
We also welcome UPK aide Ms.
Rebecca Henry, and we hope to
announce an additional Pre-K
teacher in the coming week. As in
the past, the Pre-K program will
be team-taught by Mrs.
Ogonowski and the new teacher,
assisted by our team of Pre-K
aides. We also welcome our new gym
teacher Coach Jimmy Madison.
Coach Madison has been involved
in youth sports in Orange County
for many years, and he is a truly
dynamic addition to our team! Divine Mercy School is now a
member of the Orange County
Childcare Council. Did you know
that our yearly Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4
tuition is less than the average
yearly cost of childcare in Orange
County? We have room for 3
more students this year, so tell a
friend! The sign-up period for lunch plans
has been extended to Wednesday,
Oct. 9. So that we can keep lunch
costs down and have enough for
everyone, it is very important to
mark on the signup form whether
your child is purchasing an extra
portion. If you do not purchase a
lunch plan, you must send in a
healthy lunch and snack with your
child every day. Growing brains
and bodies need plenty of healthy
fuel! To protect the safety of our stu-
dents, any one wishing to volun-
teer in the school or chaperone
field trips must have a current
background check on file, and view
the 45-minute training video “Safer
Spaces.” For your convenience, the

Background Check Authorization form is
included in this newsletter. After complet-
ing the authorization form, please return it
to the school. We will also have forms
available at the SFO meeting Tuesday eve-
ning. The video may be accessed online at
https://archny.org/online-training . Please contact the office if you have questions or
need assistance. Girls Varsity Basketball practice begins this
week! If your child is staying at school until
practice begins, or being dropped off early
for an evening practice, please be sure to
register for Aftercare. See our website for
forms and fees.

Hot Lunch Program 2019-20 Dear Divine Mercy Families, For the 2019-20 school year, we will proudly have hot lunch delivered to our cafeteria from
Luca’s Restaurant on full days of school. Hot lunch will be served beginning with our first day of
school, Thursday, September 5. Lunch will be billed through Smart Tuition until Sept. 13. In
order to serve you better, we are implementing a new lunch billing process this year. Families
who wish to participate in the hot lunch program will need to sign up by Friday, September 13
for one of three lunch plans for the first semester, which runs Sept. 16 - Jan. 24. The plan
chosen will be billed monthly in Smart Tuition. Lunch plan choices are Daily ($50.40/mo.),
3-days a week ($33.60/mo.), or Friday pizza only ($8.40/mo). This works out to $3.50 per meal.
Families will have another opportunity to join, change, or discontinue the lunch plan for the
second semester in January, 2020.
Hot lunch from Luca’s is a fixed menu which includes an entree, vegetable and fruit. Additional
snacks and bottled water will be available for $1 cash purchase during lunch periods. We will
also offer a separate milk program. Families who do not wish to participate in the hot lunch
program should send in lunch with their child(ren).
Please note that as a private school, we do not qualify for Universal Free Lunch. Individual
families may, however, apply for Free or Reduced Lunch by returning the attached form.
